Ok fellow Juners! I am feeling a little left in the dust with my weight loss. I had my surgery on June 21st. My weight was 267 and I'm now down to 203.5-204.5 (it's a bad time of month for me ). So, that means that I have lost about 63 pounds. What am I not doing that you are??????? I would love to make it to ONEDERLAND soon but I seem to struggle getting those pounds to come off.

I can relate to you 100%. I had my surgery...weighing in at 244. I am now down to 171.5. I am stuck in the 170's. I have lost a total of 72.5 pounds. This is really not much more than you. We are about a 9.5 pound difference. Have you tried a massage? I was stuck in the 180's several weeks ago. I went and had a massage and the weight started falling off of me! I quickly got into the 170's after doing this. I think it helped my body to release some of the toxins that it was holding onto in the form of water weight. After the massage, I went to the bathroom like crazy! Just a thought....I will try anything to break through to a new level of weight loss. I also believe in "thinking" myself thin. Before I step on the scale, I tell myself how thin I feel. It worked today....I was 173....today I weighed in at 171.5! I am hoping to drop into the 160's before my 6 month appointment. I will send some positive thoughts your way on getting into the onelander! Keep on trying new things....and send some positive thoughts to your mind! Take care and let me know how you are progressing! Diana

Thanks Diana! I haven't thought about a massage.......but NOW I AM.....besides, that sounds so relaxing........I have only had 1 in my lifetime and I would love to have another. Maybe that will be my x-mas present to myself. Thanks for the positive thoughts and ideas.

Hey Junebugs! I cannot speak for everyone here, but when I had my surgery, my BMI was over **50**. I know without surgery, it is easier to lose a lot of weight quickly on a diet when you are heavier to begin with, and I can only assume that it is the same with WLS. Please don't be discouraged! Every pound we lose is a pound we will never see again. Just keep stick to your surgeon's plan, and you will be successful, I promise! Nicole

Kelly, You are doing nothing wrong, we are all different. I was devastated last summer when everyone compared their weight loss and I was so behind. I quickly got over it though when I found out my metabolism was slow by having a BMR done and got support from my group. I now feel wonderful and grateful for every pound. The important thing is that you ARE losing and will continue to lose! You are doing great. Keep your chin up and don't compare yourself to anyone else. Who knows you might be the tortoise from the old Tortoise and Hare Aesop's (sp?) fables...Remember that one (although this is NOT a race)? Good luck and (((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))) Jo

Hi kelly, I think you are doing great. I started at 239, and was 230 on surgery day. I am now 171, that's 59 lbs since surgery and 68 overall. We all do it different and our bodies work in different ways. The way I look at is that I have never lost 59 lbs in 5 months knowing that it's not going to come back. You are doing nothing wrong. Just follow the rules and your body will do what it's supposed to. Love to you, Debra 239/171/125

You are averaging about 12 lbs per month which is not too shabby. I did my average and was like wow. However, the last couple of months it has only been 8-10 lbs per month. I am like you, I think it should come off quicker, especially cuz I am larger. I have no clue what is going on. I work out 4-5 days a week. However, sometimes I think that could be the problem cuz maybe I am putting on too much muscle. Nway, I would like it to come off faster, but am glad I am losing still. Good luck.

Kelly, I was one of those that lost really fast in the beginning. I lost 100 pounds pretty quickly. Then BAM! My weight loss came to a screeching halt. I havent lost in over a month. My appetite came back all of the sudden and my sweet tooth. Boy have I been bad. Needless to say I am now totally panicked. I'm worried that the old Dawn is back. SCARY! What was easy in the beginning is not so easy now. Now I'm the one feeling envious of you guys. -Dawn 340/235 and not budging.

Hey Kelly, I'm with you too! I've lost 62 lbs since June 20, went from 234 to 172. I'm happy that I'm now in a size 12, but wi**** would happen a little faster too! One guy I read on these boards advice, in fact his mantra is to focus on the habits and the results will follow. Too often we focus on the results and the habits aren't changed that much...so I'm really trying to focus on the new habits and trust that I'll eventually get there! Cindy 234/172/134
