Okay ladies...it is me again....wondering if I have lost enough weight. My surgery was June 22nd. I went into surgery weighing 244. Today I weighed in at 173. This is a 71 pound weight loss. Here is the struggle with me though....a few days ago I weighed in at 171. I was excited and certain I was going to break into the 160's finally. My goal weight is 138. I am 35 pounds away from my goal weight. I need a reality check. Am I losing at the appropriate rate? I am so stressed because I realize that I only have one month left of the "honeymoon" phase. I wanted to be at least in the 150's at the six month mark. I am so afraid that I will never reach my goal. Is there anyone else that can relate to this. I have come so far...but I want to make it this time---all the way! I don't want to settle for anything else than the GOAL!

Well, I would have to say that you are doing really great!!!!! I had my surgery on June 21st and I have lost 63-64 pounds. I started at 267 and I'm at 203-204. I'm feeling like I'm not losing enough.

Diana, I'm not sure about the honeymoon period being over at 6 months out. My cousin and a freind of mine continued to lose weight steadily until 15 months out. They were heavier than you but they lost quite a bit from month 6 to month 12. The weight is coming off more slowly now but it is coming off and better until I reach my goal. Chip

Thanks Wendy! You are doing great as well. Heath is so proud and constantly tells me that. His 20th high school reunion was last Friday and one of his best friends from high school came up and told him that we were the best looking couple in the entire crowd. I thought that was kinda funny. We got the crowd up on their feet dancing after dinner and even got them to go to the bar for Karoke afterwords. It was a blast and not something I could have hope to do 5 months ago. Chip

I have to agree with the others. I had surgery 6/6/05 and have lost only 65 pounds. You also have to remember, if you are not doing your protein/water/exercise, this will hinder the amount you lose. I really think that is why I haven't lost as much. Just this week I started back up on my protein drinks again, and started walking for exercise again and we'll see what that gets me. Good luck to you and try not to worry too much about it. Just keep up the good work!1 Irma

Calm down! You're doing great - I know that because you're right there with me, and everyone keeps telling me how great I look! 250/170/135 (June 14). If you're like me, I have to keep starting over / doing better with water, exercise, etc., but we are learning to live realistically with this, too. Drink a bunch of water for a few days and don't let it get you down. Honestly, I couldn't complain if I never lost another pound - not that that is an option! Remember, the slower you loose now, the more chance the skin has to adjust too. That's what bothers me more than anything else, now. Be patient, we only have about 35 more to go! You will be looking fabulous (at 138) by spring when the bulky clothes are all packed away again. Besides, it's supposed to take 12 to 18 months to level out. You know that pound or two have to do with water, if you've had a BM, what you're wearing...my jammies weigh 2 lbs., apparently. I don't wear them anymore when I weigh! Keep your chin up and model some of those small clothes you can wear now! Keep up the great work! Kristie

Hey Love, We all loose in various ways. Don't fret but be encourged and know that you will continue to loose. You will be at your goal in a flash. SMILE-- and look at how far you have come. Renee'
