Hey Junebugs! I'm sorry, but I have to ask this - has anyone else experienced any rashes yet as a result of extra skin? I have a little rash inside my belly button! I am going to go see the doc about it, but I am a little creeped out by it. The weird thing is, when I weighed 312 pounds, I never had such issues! I am guessing there is something about the extra skin pulling down over my BB. Maybe? Your thoughts and/or experiences? Nicole Lap RNY 6/7/05 312/201/150

HI NICOLE! well sorry to hear your experiencing such but it is common after weight loss surgery for such iirations from the extra skin. I so far dont have any wish i did. I know its good to document what your experiencing cause if these irritations are troublesome it betters your case for a tummy tuck. GOOD LUCK FEEL WELL LISA 310/200.5/???

I often get a rash just inside my belly button, but I always figured it was from my jeans rubbing. It goes away all the time. I try to just keep it washed and make sure all the water is out after I dry and then it goes away. I am not sure if you are experiencing the same thing or not, but thought I would let you know.

Nicole, I had a yeast infection in there. I got some over the counter cream and used it. It worked fine. I also seem to get yeasty in other cracks and crevices that have appeared since my skin is so loose now. I guess it's good documentation for the tt insurance coverage! Wendy Daly

I actually started getting infections in my belly button before surgery - mine is very deep. It would start itching and I would notice green crust around the outside. Sorry to be so graphic. :P The inside would be bright red. I was actually given an antibiotic when I went to the doctor. It still gets irritated about every month or two. I try to make sure its dry after showers and wash really well and also use peroxide or alcohol on q-tips sometimes. I had a horrible rash under my stomach right after surgery - yeast, fungal... It was REALLY bad. I took pictures for insurance purposes. Hopefully they will cover a tummy tuck later down the road.

Thanks so much for your reponses, everyone! More than anything, it helps to know that I am not alone... it's just sort of icky, you know? I will definitely start documenting. If it helps me later on, then I guess that's something, right? Nicole
