i know exactly what you are saying about the BMS. i go once or twice a week and i know it is because i don't eat enough to "go". i am trying! i am also going to get back into the protein shakes in the morning, since i usually don't eat breakfast anyways. today i think i will have one of the atkins shakes that have been sitting in my fridge. i also tried the metamucil capsules all last week from sunday to saturday and finally went to the bathroom on saturday. but i think that was because of the laxative i took friday night! so i am going to try the correctols for awhile and see if that will help push things along (or OUT...ewwww).

As far as BMs, my favorite thing is Bene-fiber, (not in the capsule) it's a little expensive but I love it. It doesn't thicken up or have any taste, I just add a small scoop to my protein drinks. Start slow and build up to as much as 5 times a day, I never got that far, once I got regular I was doing 3 or 4 times a day now I do 2, it gives some bulk but also pulls in some water so it keeps things soft. Stay away from the laxitives they can become habit forming (end of nursey lecture).

thanks for the tidbit, sandra. i will check it out on my next trip to walmart. i just hope it helps, because those metamucil tablets did nothing for me!
you know, after i had my son in '94, i did have sort of an "addiction" to laxatives. took them everyday, to the point where i could take one and go to the bathroom within 15-20 minutes! i lived at home then, my mom got very worried about me and even sent a nurse who was a friend of hers over to talk to me. i wouldn't NOW want to take them like i did back then, just to "get rid" of anything i ate. NOW i just want to go poo!
but yes, thanks for the reminder. i don't want to make a habit out of them!
