NOVEMBER A BETTER MONTH?

I haven't lost anything this month. I thought it was just me. I don't know what is going on. Although I have made some poor food choices, including carbs. So I am working on that and have been eating a lot of chicken. I sure hope it gets better for all of us.

i hope so too, kelli. i must admit, i have eaten 3 or 4 thin mint cookies! not that i think that is why i am stuck, i mean cmon, before i could eat the whole damn box! but it just makes me aware that i have to be more strong-willed! grrr, i purposely didn't buy any girl scout cookies so they wouldn't be in the house! then my mom went and bought 5 boxes for the kids!!! but i am trying to do better, too. constantly fighting to get more liquids in because i think that helps me. let's turn things around the 2nd 1/2 of the month! hugsssssss

Yes, definitely I say let's make this second half better. It starts with us! Girl, my downfall is the doggone icecream. I never use to eat a lot of icecream.

i never was a big ice cream fan. since surgery, i tried it once, when i took my daughter for ice cream one day. they had a fat free, no sugar added caramel swirl! mmm, i love caramel! i got a dish, took about 3 bites and then threw it out. it tasted sinful, it was so good! hugssssss

Yes it is sinful!!! We need a caramel flavored philly swirl! I think I'm gonna make ice cream my new enemy. The last few days I have craved veggies though, which is much better than ice cream.

Mary Jo, I hope November will turn out to be a good month for us all! For me, it started out good, but not anymore. I started the month at 178. The first week of Nov. I lost 4.2 lbs, which was pretty good cuz I only lost 7 in October. BUT- On Thursday morning I was 172 and yesterday morning I was 174, so I gained 2 lbs over the weekend!! Ugh!! But this morning I was 173.6 so I don't know what is going on, but my goal for my 5-month on Nov. 21st was to be 167, and I don't see that happening, that is a week away. Hopefully I can get to at least 172 again by then, and my goal for the end of Nov. is to be in the 160's. It will happen, it will for all of us. I think that Lisa is right, as we get closer to our goal weights the weight will come off slower. Good luck everyone!! I am so glad we have this message board! Tiff 247/173/125

boy, same thing going on here, tiff. LAST saturday, i was 147. ever since then, i have been anywhere from 147-149, but this morning i was back to 147. going on 10 days now, so i hope to see the scale move soon. my next goal was to be 140 by the time i go back to the dr on december 13th. i thought i would be able to get there, but now i am having 2nd thoughts. i am sure you will make the 160's before the end of the month! hugssssss

mary jo, I will just raise my hand because all the others have said it already. Low seems to be the word for me as well. I am so glad that it is still moving down but it sure stinks when you see it moving so slow, make you face the fact that someday we will be done losing and learing now to maintaine. That is almost scary for me to think about because then I really will have to be careful with the weight. I know I have to weigh myself every day or so, I like to know I am still on track. Some days I feel so "fat" still so as long as the scale say ok, I am ok. Well take care hun and here is wishing all us Juners the best Debra P

thanks debra! you know, maintaining is the scary part for me, too. well that, and reaching goal. you read about people gaining wieght back after X amount of years...boy, does that scare me! i am glad to have this board for support. the main board is great, too, but having you guys that all had surgery around the same time as me, sure keeps me sane! hugssssss

I'm a little scared to say this out loud... I've dropped 8 pounds so far in November This might be TMI, but I went through two days of suddenly having BM after BM and BLAM!! I dropped 5 of those pounds overnight. I'm thinking I should be having them more often than every 3-4 days...because apparently, it's backing up. (I know, gross...sorry....but I KNOW I'm not the only one with this issue) I also noticed that I'm more sensitive to sugar and carbs since that happened too. Isn't that strange? I've been eating Special K bars nearly every morning for two months and since the two day "thing" - I dump on Special K bars. So I had to give them up! BUT giving up the Special K bars made me get back into my protein shakes...so that's a GOOD thing. I'm actually CRAVING Unjury Chocolate!! I have a tub at work and at home. Pam
