I know people have their differences about the scales, but I have a question. How and when do you weigh? Because I weigh at the dr.s office fully dressed with shoes on that is what I consider my official weigh-in attire, but I also weigh shoeless as this is the way I was used to weighing before. I know this is probably a silly question, but was just wondering. Karen

well, as a scale junkie, i weigh EVERYDAY. i bought a new scale the day before surgery and i weighed the morning of surgery, naked! so everyday now, i weigh with nothing on right after i wake up. this is what i use for my "official" weigh-in. when i go to my doc's office, i always weigh fully clothed with shoes on. hugs~mary jo

Well I must admit, I only have a once a week weigh in that i count, but I do hop on during the week from time to time. But I started w/ the same scale since pre-op and I weigh in NAKED and always in the morning. I consider my "official" weight what I weigh every wednesday morning as I had surgery on a Wednesday. In my doctors office it's shoes off, clothes on. But I go by my own scale. Good Luck, Ilyssa

HI, my name is LISA! I had WLS on JUNE 1st and I am a scale addict. I weigh every night and every morning...fully naked and even hang my toes off to get that lowest weight i can each weigh in! I confess that im addicted to the scale since surgery! I have even weighed early am...took a huge BM and went back on to see if that dropped more weight! LOL (maybe if i was before i got heavy i wouldnt have lost control) LISA

First thing in the morning (after I pee - lol!). I only weigh once a week, but occasionally succumb to the urge to peek. I consider my scale at home a better measure of my progress, since the doctor's office scale could be recalibrated between my appointments. Not to mention the fact that I always weigh there later in the day, and have a couple of pounds on me from food and such during the day. Nicole 312/208/150

Hey, Nicole! I like to weigh first thing in the a.m. after the potty to. And then if it is a good goal weight like this morning I sometimes call my hubby in and make him look at the scale! I know I'm a little nuts, but I get so excited about some of my mini-goals! Karen

Yep, Lisa you sound as bad as me! I guess it is just so exciting to see the scale moving down instead of up and then that fear that it will stop going down and start back up keeps me weighing in. The last 5 lbs or so have gone sooooooo slowly, but as of this morning's weigh in (clothed with shoes) I was finally under 200 by 1 lb. So, at 20wks I am down about 87 lbs. Wooohoo!!!!!! Karen

I think you will get there very soon, Lisa! I think it is such a "BIG" thing in our minds that it makes it seem to take forever! I know the last 5 to 10 lbs have seemed to be the slowest I've lost. I have been so scared that I would jump back over that I'm afraid to say too much about it. Karen
