Hey guys!!! You know, every victory, no matter how small is a victory, just as well!! I have NEVER been a shopper. I don't have that gene.. or so I thought. Well, Now that I am buying clothes that are sizes 16-18 (depending on the quality, I suppose) I have been like a damn fool! Marshalls is my new home. I go in and look around and want to buy anything that fits! HA!! I have been so fortunate to get a lot of hand-me-downs from friends and family who have lost weight before me, most by more traditional means. I have dress clothes coming out of my hoo-haa and don't hesitate to wear them, even just to go out to a casual dinner! What the heck! I don't let myself buy any one item that is more than $20. I think that's moderate...and I don't really buy more than one thing on a given visit. Hey, I went to K-Mart for my daughter's school project supplies and bought a pair of pants (size 18) on sale~ I think it's just funny that I am learning that perhaps, I DO like clothes and Shopping after all, but I was not terribly inspired by having to automatically buy whatever the biggest size they had in the store was! This is a new world! And I have to say, I am really enjoying it! Hope you all are too. God bless, and happy shopping!! Rossana 334/249/???

That is so funny Rossana, I thought I no longer liked to shop, but now I am also finding I like it. It isn't going to get better as I gt smaller either, tee hee. I wish I made more money because now that I enjoy it, it would be so much fun to celebrate and do a whole new wardrobe at goal (actually what choice do I have, I don't have anything in smaller sizes... I guess a little at a time). Happy shopping right back at ya!! Jo

I hear you on the over dressing thing. I wore a beautiful black and white pant suit that looked like i should have been at a wedding. And i wore it to WAL-MART to go and buy toilet paper. SO SAD!

Rossana, I know what you are going through! I never liked to shop for myself. Always one of the kids or grandkids...or the house but never me. I never felt that I deserved new clothes. Now....watch out! My favorite store is Kohl's! I get a cart and fill it up with PANTS!!??? and try them on! I love the fact that I can pull a 12 off the rack and they fit! Right now they are getting lose so I throw in some 10's too! They are still a bit too tight but if I buy I buy them smaller! I also shop off the racks at Kaufman's....I know that there is probably no one else that knows what this store is but it is owned by Macy's. They have a 90% off rack and run coupons in the paper for an additional 15% off. I bought 6 pair of slacks and 2 tops for 34 bucks! Not to shabby! All the pants do not fit yet but at least I have some pants to wear down the road. When the urge hits....go shop! Sue 320/164/goal130

Shopping for clothes is my new addiction! Can't seem to get enough and it is hard to restrain myself! Hubby is also on this path with me (he had his surgery in July), so we are both awful when we go together because neither one of us can restrain ourselves!! Tonight is going to be really special! My parish is having a charity auction and I bought this beautiful RED with SPARKLES faux wrap top, with 3/4 length sleeves, from Famous-Barr, to go with a black velvet skirt. I also had myself re-fitted and purchased two new (underwire) bras with lots of support! They make me look really much better and help with a greater definition of my waistline (yes, I have a waistline now!). Turns out, after wearing 46-C, I am actually a 44-D. Hubby liked that! I also bought corduroy, yes, cordury pants -- two pair in fact. They look so cute! I also picked up these two tops that have a double-V neck and a little light beading and sequins in front. I wore one of those tops with a pair of cords to a Halloween party last month -- there were a number of people there who hadn't seen me in a while and I got lots of compliments. In fact, there was this one man, who is known as a casanova, who came over and gave me a warm handshake and complimented me on how good I looked. It was interesting to observe the lascivious wheels turning in his head (I'm sure it wouldn't bother him too much to play around w/ a married woman). You can see a pic of me and my hubby at this party at: http://archcitychronicle.mycapture.com/mycapture/enlarge.asp?userphoto=0ℑ=11173666&thispage=1 and in that photo I am wearing the double-V top I mentioned earlier. My hubby and I also last month went to Lake of the Ozarks, where there is a huge (172 stores) outlet mall. We shopped our little hearts out and ended up with a lot of really good buys. He was thrilled that he was able to go to Ralph Lauren and buy a jacket that fit. I actually did not find much for myself in the way of clothes there, but it was still fun shopping and, best of all, we probably went to at least a third of the stores that weekend and we did not have problems with fatigue and handling all the walking. It was wonderful, and is wonderful, to be really sharing and living life with my husband! Thanks all . . . congrats to all on their successes and keep up the great work!! - Beth
