My Monday night trip to the ED
Hi June Friends
I had a bit of a scare on Monday night. We ate at Long John Silver's and I had a shrimp and sea legs salad with ranch dressing (without those little crunchy things). We went to visit my Grandmother (she's 97 and still sharp as a tack!) and I started feeling really sick. I had a sharp pain in the left upper part of my abdomen and started dry heaving like crazy.
My mom took me to the emergency room because we were worried about the sharp pain and Thank God everything checked out ok. The CT scan, xrays, and bloodwork all came back normal. I spent all day yesterday feeling pretty much the same except for the pain and I could not keep food down. I felt much better today, and I was able to eat a 1/2 container of yogurt without getting sick...YEA, but then I had some chicken soup that brought the nausea back with a vengance!! I had a follow-up with my surgeon today, and he thinks it is a virus because all of the test results look good. (he was the one that ordered the CT scan in the ED..they called him right away for which I was really glad!!)
I am a bit nervous though because I am leaving for Mexico on Sunday and I sure don't want to be sick away from home! He wants me to call the office on Friday to give him a status...cross your fingers for me!
Wishing everyone a wonderful night!

Hi Lisa
My surgeon said that was the right thing to do too. I went back to work today and I am feeling a lot better. Thanks for the post!
I'll let you know how the trip was...we are really looking forward to it! We were nervous that it may be cancelled due to Wilma, but we are staying south of Cancun and the resort did not get damaged.
Heck I might be afraid to eat and lose lots of weight next week...wouldn't that be nice!! I'm packing vitamins and protein powder.
Have a great night
Leslie
