Hi all, I haven't posted for quite some time, but I need help. How is everyone getting their protein in? I know that I'm supposed to be getting it mainly from foods, but I get tired of eating the same damn foods all the time. I mean, I can handle meat, I love meat, chicken, pork, beef, all of it and I can eat it, but besides fat free cottage cheese, is there anything else high in protien that I can eat to try to get in all of my protein? I usually do a protein shake in the morning, but w/carnation instant breakfast, 1/3 c of powder milk, and 8 oz of fat free milk, it's still like 250 calories, then I'm not supposed to eat breakfast, because the protien shake takes it's place. At least that's what I was told. Anyone care to share? I need all the help I can get. I to am at a stall. I haven't lost any weight in 14 or 15 days. I've been going to the gym at least 1-2 times per week starting out, adn I always walk 30-60 minutes per day. I have plans to start working out for 60 minutes 3 times per week and include the walking every day, but I could still use the advice. I started out at 239, and down to 177.5, but fluctuate between 177.5-179 for the last 2 weeks. Ugh! Please help!

Ahh once again another happy junebug at a stall! There is a 4 month stall that we have been posting about and it's a long one! About 3 or 4 weeks. Some have broke the plataeu at two weeks tho! Hang in there and increase your protein and water. It seems that no matter what we do we will still stall a bit! As far as protein goes, I eat beans, cottage cheese and chix! I am sick of the protein shakes! Hang in there! You should only have about 1 more week for your stall! ~Alicia 275/215/170ish

HEY glad you posted you know were here for you!!! I like to get a good protein source from the following items used as protein snacks: STALLONE PUDDING SOY NUTS CHEESES HARD BOILED EGGS GLENNYS Soy chips MIX lo salt NUTS (planters) Atkins ADVANTAGE bars (watching labels for flavors with no sugar or sugar alcohols) beef jerky Carb countrdown yogurt (unavailable now) Carb Coutndown chocolate milk Just to name a few other sources for protein in my day. I didnt loose this week and im floating so i guess there is much truth in this 4 month stall. I think if i go into next week with nothing im gonna get some strawberries and nuts in my diet and break thru this at 2 weeks! WORKED at the 4 - 6 week stall LOL WHO knows if it was the product or just was time to break thru! Well hang in there and remember to measure!!!! OUR body does take stalls to melt away the inches!!! I get measured next week so it will be interesting to see my inches for the month with a slower loss this past month. I have it done at the gym! Well hang in there! SIP SIP SIP water and EAT those proteins! MORE the better.... no starvation mode for our bodies. LISA 310/208/???

hi penny! i broke my stall on saturday, at almost the 2 week mark. i say up the fluids! i know protein is important for us and i get in as much as i can, but my doc wants me to get it all from food at this point. so i don't do protein drinks at all anymore. yes, if you have a shake for breakfast, that is supposed to be your "meal", so you can't eat anything in place of it. do you like string cheese? the polly-o has 9g protein per stick, so maybe try a couple of those for breakfast. that's what i have been doing, string cheese or hard-boiled eggs! hugsss~mary jo

Hi Penny, If you are looking for a new protein drink I use Nectar by Syntrax. They are fruit flavored and I mix them with my Crystal Light lemonade. I like their Roadside Lemonade. I drink 3 a day! They have 23 grams of protein and only 90 calories...no sugar...no fat....and they don't taste chalky. If I didn't do the shakes I wouldn't get more than 12 grams of protein in a day! I have a terrible time with foods. The only meat I can eat is turkey....eggs don't sit well.....fish gives me the big "D"......so that leaves me with turkey and white cheese....oh and I am lactose intolerant to boot! I can tolerate small amounts of Smucker's Natural no sugar added peanut butter. I am not the best one to ask about the foods as you can see. I am trying to get protein in but it is a struggle. Good news is.....I am down 155 pounds since last year! 85 since my surgery! Sue

I'm still doing the protein drinks for breakfast, just more convenient for me and such an easy way to get in 35 grams of protein (Worldwide). BUT, having said that, a great protein source I 've found is Sargento Deli Sliced Swiss Cheese (I think the pkg says "thick slice") It has 8 grams of protein in each slice, which is amazing for sliced cheese. And like Lisa S., I also eat the Genisoy or Glennys soy crisps. Very tasty, lots of protein and fiber, and very filling. I am a Juner too, but have not yet hit a plateau, and I'm not even exercising (bad hip). I wonder if the reason is that I limit my carbs to no more than 15 grams a day. I'm losing about 2 to 3 pounds a week. I get my carbs from Goldfish crackers, 28 of 'em to be exact. I've become addicted to them. 28 have 70 calories and 10 or 12 carbs (don't have the box here to know for sure). Have also tried Triscuit (the Rosemary and Olive Oil kind). I eat 4 with salmon salad on top. Again, low carbs, high fiber. I think carbs are the key.

Penny, I hit what i thought was a plateau and now I do not know. This is what i did. I increased my protein by making the best protein shake. It has 8oz skim milk, 4oz carb control yogart whatever favor that you wants, 2 scoops curves protein shake and 1 scoop unjury protein powder. it has a total of 48 gram protein and you drink ONE daily. i am now down 13 pounds more and i realy think that that was it. take care though and let us know how you are... stacey

Before Katrina, I got all my protein in by doing 2-3 Nectar or some kind of whey protein shakes a day. Chicken, tuna, string cheese, eggs, milk...and I uped my calories by adding nuts. I am not as good at this now, but I striving to get better. Oh and Turkey Jerkey, or you can have some sliced turkey and a piece of cheese and make a wrap out of it. Yum.
