Darn Stall!

Hi everyone! I have heard that there is a 4-month stall that usually happens. Is anyone else experiencing it? I was 185 on October 1st. I dropped up and down until I got to 180 on the 12th, then ever since the 12th my weight has gone up and down between 180 and 182. So that is almost 2 weeks of no real progress!! Today I am back up to 181. I am doing everything right, it is so annoying. When I was 3 weeks out I stopped losing for 3 weeks, so if I could make it through that time, which was very frustrating, then I can make it through any stall but I wish I would start losing again!! Sorry, I guess that I am just venting!!!

I know how you feel, I hated the 3 week stall I also had. I have only lost 7 lb this month but I am o.k. with that. I am not looking forward to another stall though. Sorry! Just remember it is only just that, it means you will loose again, keep your eyes on the prize! Jo

I will also add my two cents: MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE! USUALLY when you in this period the inches are comeing off I hear out bodies dont do both so aceept it. GET YOUR tape measure out and keep track and you will see this to be true! BUT hang in their you tool is working fine you sound like your doing everything right. GOOD LUCK! IT will pass lisa

YES! I am at 16 1/2 weeks out and have stalled for 2 weeks now! But I know "this too shall pass" and I'll do fine! A lady in my support group warned me it was a big one! And she's right! Just keep a positive attitude and you'll do fine! 275/215/170ish

Tiffany, Hun I know the feeling and it really is frustrating . I was on one for the last month, hanging around 209-207 then as of this morning I went down 4 1/2 lbs, go figure. I did not do anything different other then adding some more calories and protein into the mix, it seemed to kick start it. Now I just hope it keeps moving down... Hang in there hun, as long as your following the plan you should be ok. Lisa is right about measuring yourself even though I have not do so myself. I just kind of go with it. Best of luck hun ~Hugs~ Debra P 285/202.5/125??

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words!! I have been taking measurments but I haven't in about a month or so. I will take them again and see. I wonder what makes it to that we will lose inches but not drop lbs on the scale? I guess it would be gaining muscle but gaging how weak I have gotten I couldn't see myself as having gained any muscle!!

Somewhere on this site, not sure where, there is a doctor who talked about stalls and plateaus. He said that a true plateau is when you do not lose pounds or inches for at least four weeks straight. Other times when the scales does not move, we may lose inches and this is our body's way of resting and redistributing our weight. Very normal and healthy thing to happen. So, until we reach that no weightloss/inches lost for four week point, we just need to be thankful that our bodies are doing what they are supposed to be doing..........even though it can be frustrating. Good luck and God bless, Debra

Hi Tiffany! I have been stuck at around 70# weight loss for the last 4 -6 weeks now!!! It goes up and then down a few pounds.... but still today, I am at a 70# loss! UGH!!!!! I am soooooo frustrated! I had my blood work done because I thought maybe it was my thyroid causing this horrible stall (OK, a girl can dream, can't see?). No such luck... thyroid function tests, along with all of the other tests were just fine! I could dear with a two or three week stall, but this is rediculous! I am exercising, eating only protein, drinking my water.... NOTHING IS WORKING! I do understand your frustration, believe me!! Good luck, my friend! Sandy
