I did read a thread on this in the NY forum (i think) and now it just happened to me and im beginning to think on this topic now. HOW does your tummy handle leftovers???? I just and i did eat leftover stew from last nights dinner, just the meat pieces. So my question here to the june members are u haveing trouble eating leftover meats? I thought i read it has something to do with how the leftovers start to breakdown in our new pouches.....well gonna watch this situation for myself but i think it is something i had experienced before not relizing it. THANKS in advance for your replies..... lisa

Hi there! I can not eat leftovers well at all! even if I put a gravy or something on them to make them most. I went to chilli's and ordered the fajita pita, NOT a good Idea, the chicken was precooked and reheated....BLAH! I am constanlty cooking, but the weight loss is worth it! Hi Lisa, I can't eat leftovers either. The only thing that I can eat left over is chinese food cause it usually has some sauce on it - but only if it is chicken. Beef just does not seem to work left over. You are doing so awesome on your weight loss! Have a happy day! Gayle

I can not stomach leftovers. I do go to find anything really tasting and worthy of eating. Before WLS, I was not that picky and could deal with about anything presented to me to eat. Today, since I am not able to eat much -- I want whatever I eat to be tasty, have a great appearance, and preferably -- high in protein/low in sugar. I guess -- it's a mental thing but I'd prefer not to have to face leftovers...even if it means eating another protein bar or drinking another protein shake. I've never been into wasting food - -but then again, for most of my life, I've been overweight and I prefer to let the food go to waste than have the extra waist on me. 317/230/?

Interesting! On the flip side... This is not something I have noticed. I seem to do fine with leftovers. As a matter of fact, I had leftover shepard's pie for lunch every single day last week! What an interesting observation, though! Nicole Lap RNY 6/7/05 312/215/150?

Lisa, I'm so glad you posted this! I can't eat any left overs, if I try I get sick. I had never heard anyone talk about this or have never read anything on it so I just thought that it was me. I live alone and waste a lot of food. I'm so glad to know that I am not alone. Take care. Cara Mel

I honestly haven't tried much for leftovers because I had heard previously that leftover meat was hard on the pouch. I did try leftover Chinese food once... and felt like dog-doo for a few hours. I will admit I may have just eaten a bite or two too many though! I have not yet thrown up or dumped from surgery. I am one of the lucky ones who can tell when I am getting full and am able to stop eating before I get too full. I have not tried more than 5 grams of sugar in one sitting yet... so I don't know yet if I am a "dumper." The one thing I have had problems with is Low Carb Ice Cream. I had about a 1/4 cup and felt really close to ing. Maria 318/235/165ish

I don't have any trouble with left overs, in fact I usually eat the same thing for dinner for 2-3 days since I can't finish a portion the first day and since it's o.k. its cheap and easy. But I have also not dumped yet either. I only feel icky if I eat a little too much. I have heard of many people who have had trouble with left overs though and our replies seem to prove what you are experiencing is pretty common. Jo
