Who eats cereal and soup....
I have been curious about this for a while maybe you guys can help me out on this one....
If you eat soup or cereal, do you drink the broth or the milk? Just wondering if it is okay to do this? I have been having cereal for breakfast and drink the milk as well. But I wonder if I am not suppose to do that since we are not suppose to drink with our meals. Has anyone else thought about that? Do you think drinking the broth from soup is okay too?

For cereal I do, but its usually just a little bit of milk, because it takes me so long to eat the cereal it soaks up a lot of the milk. My favorite cereal lately is Raisin Bran, partly because it tastes so good and it has a lot of fiber. But I don't eat all the raisins just some.
The only soup I have tried is bean soup and lentil soup, and I went ahead and drank the broth but there wasn't much. I wonder what others will say who have had chicken soup and other stuff where there is a lot of broth.
I havent had any cereal yet, but I do have soup and drink the broth.. I usually make it pretty thick though so I get full before I can drink too much broth. I actually never even thought about this when I was eating soup before. I will have to make sure I get full on the protein and veggies first and just sip some of the broth..
Before WLS - - I ate cereal every morning with my no fat milk. Since WLS, the cereal and milk just have not tasted good to me and since the Milk has more sugar than we need to start with post-op, I just have found better options than my old milk & cereal before going to work.
Before WLS -- I did like a lot of soup and crackers. Since WLS, I eat a lot of Wendy's (small) chili (with two packets of their crackers) but other than that -- I really don't eat much soup. With our not being able to eat much at a time, I try to focus on foods that really look tasty, appeasing, and worthy of my eating it. Right after my WLS I ate a lot of soup because I did not have many other choices -- but now -- I pretty much can eat (within reason) what I want which means that soup is not one of those things I choose to have.

I will ocassionally have a bowl of Special K with little FF Carb Countdown milk. The cereal soaks up the milk so I don't have any to drink when I'm done.
I also eat a small bowl of steel cut oatmeal once a week. It is great and loaded with fiber. I also add milk to this.
Soup---I love Campbell's Chicken Chowder, but I only eat a small bite of the corn and a little of the creamed part. I like it because the chicken is so tender and my pouch likes it.
