GYNO APPT TODAY....

well, i went this morning for my annual and told them about the pains i have been getting. they are sending me for an ultrasound on tuesday. she said i have an enlarged uterus, that it is about the size of someone 8-10 weeks pregnant. since i know i am definitely NOT pregnant, she told me she thinks i have fybroids. so now i guess i wait til tuesday and see what they tell me then! hugs~mary jo

Oh, joy.... Have you ever had a pelvic ultrasound? Did they specify a transvaginal scan? The first one I ever had, NO ONE!! explained that they would shove this ... thing... covered in a condom up my ****! The tech just pulled it out and said, now we are going to use this... Yeah, right... I had a bit of a hissy and she was supprised that my GYN hadn't explained it to me. I confronted my GYN and she said that the tech was supposed to expain it. I'm just glad the tech was female. If it had been a male, I would have screamed the roof down!!! And she said she was only going to put the first "couple" of inches in. Man, could she not measure anything! She hit the back wall and I KNOW that is more than 2 inches. OWWWWwwwww! Best of luck and I hope everything turns out for the best! Bless your heart. I know this is nerve racking for you. I pray all goes well. Keep us informed. Tuesday is not a good day for me either. I had surgery on my arm, a tendon release and now my arm is numb so I get those long needles with electrodes poked in it Tuesday to see why is is numb. I will be thinking of you on Tuesday. yes, this is a little nerve rcking, but i will be glad once they give me a straight answer on what is causing my pains. OUCH deloris! i am sorry to hear about your upcoming tuesday! i will be thinking of you also and hope all goes well! hugssssssss

HEY MARY JO glad you looked into your pains we should never ignore them!!!!! I have a uterine cyst and ill be following up at the OB/GYN on the 25th. I am having a sonogram so the doctor can see it right away and discuss. KEEP your junebugs informed of things. GOOD LUCK LISA 310/211/???

Mary, I had to go in for a pelvic u/s one time and no one told me about the condom covered wand either. I found out in the room. I also had a female tech (thank goodness). But she had me insert it (still....very awkward) and then she took over. She didn't hurt me or anything...but it was still....very awkward. I just kept telling myself that they do this allllll the time and they won't remember me any more than they would remember anyone else. In fact, they probably get fed up with the resistance they get from us condom covered wand virgins! At least, that's how I put my mind at ease.....a little. It was still.....very awkward. I'm glad you went to the doc. Now, you can get this taken care of and keep on getting healthy! I hope everything goes well and is very minimal. Hugs, Pam

oh no, so that means they might still be using the wand on me when i get there? ughhh, i hope not! it sure does sound "awkward". but i am pretty sure the tech is a female as well at my dr's office, i guess that is better... hugssss

I guess i never think twice on these kind of sonograms...and thats cause my years of infertility i had these kind of songrams every day watching my ovaluation cycles..... THEY are pretty ackward. I to am having this sonogram on the 25th as a result of my recent trip to the OR .... GOOD LUCK and keep us posted! LISA
