The predicted range for weight loss after gastric bypass is 15%-51% of weight loss desired, with 33% as the average. So let's say you need to lose a total of 150lbs, your predicted weight loss at 3 months could range between these values: 15%= 22.5 lbs 33%= 45 lbs (average) 51%= 76.5 lbs Does that help? RK

Topic: 3 month PO visit
Well yesterday I went to my 3 month post op visit (about 10 days early) and I am officially 55lbs lighter. I an sooo excited to be on the losing side. I cannot believe that it is actually happening. I also LOVE this site. I have not had too much trouble, I have only dumped 4 times, but I also don't eat alot. Having a hard time remembering to take my vitamins, but I think I am going to put them in my make up case, because I sure don't leave the house without my makeup on Congrats to all the Junebugs!! Hey and a little note to those who are feeling that the weight loss is a little slow, have you measured yourself? I went about a week without losing a pound and a remeasured myself and had actually lost inches and felt much better. Keep your head up and remember we are on the losing side and it is great!!!!!

I think your doing great! I can relate to you about the pants size thing. I just bought a pair of size 18 jeans today. I was so excited. Before surgery I was wearing a tight 26/28 jean. I had my surgery 06/30/04 & I am down 58 lbs.

I think this must be the three month PO curse of "I can eat too much" feeling. I was just thinking of posting about that. So here is a typical day or so for me. Keep in mind I am a protein shake failure so I try and get mine in foods. B: *my toughest time because i can't figure out what to eat* a half of a bagel with either peanut butter on it or cream cheese ( I can do an egg some days and others, yack) L: 3 oz of tuna w/ mayo and relish S: cheese or glass of 1% milk D: whatever I make the family (grilled chicken/casserole/pork, etc) I eat almost a cup of it. I rarely eat sides cause I am trying to get my protein in Hope this helps. I am concerned though because I am not really adhering to carbs/fat intake, I just make sure i get my protein in (40-50g/day) and I see where people are really concerned on bread and pasta and i know why, I just hope I am not breaking a major rule of WLS. Only protien was really stressed by my doc and of course the mentioning of low fat so I do try but I dont think I am "converted" yet to a true healthy eater. Gosh, I didn't mean to go on here. Sorry. I started at 386 prior to surgery...368 on my surgery date down to 285.9 down 82.1 since surgery (11 weeks!) (100 pounds since my journey began) Still having protein problems and can't hold down many foods, but am doing good with protein supplements.

Im like you...I think I eat too much... Yesterday... Breakfast...Quaker oat bar Snack...apple Lunch... smothered okra w/ shrimp...about a little over 1/2 cup supper....same as lunch Today was bad... breakfast...apple snack...none lunch...(very hungry)...1/2 small cheese burger and about 5 tator tots snack...left over burger 1/2 and rest of tots How do I feel right now?...I feel like But its my fault! I was craving a burger...I gave in! :angry: I am only 3 months out...I shouldnt be able to eat a hamburger...I know I cant eat the whole thing...but still Its my fault...i shouldnt have done it...
