Topic: My surgery is April 28th.....
Anyone else have this date? I started my 2 week pre-op diet and met with the surgeon. I really like him. I've been cleaning and getting everything ready around the house so that my husband and kids don't have too much to do while I am recovering.
I'm just so excited I can't stand it. I can't believe it is finally happening. If you are having your surgery around that time, let me know. I will be praying for all of those about to have surgery and please pray for me too.

I just started mine too. My surgery is the 28th. The last day before I started I basically said goodbye to the things that I love. I knew that day was coming so I ate some of the things I knew would be gone forever. Then I was ready. Now I am so excited about my surgery that it is not really bothering me. I have been keeping myself busy cleaning my house and getting things in order (sort of like nesting....) It has kept my mind off of food and it has made me feel good to see the results of my cleaning. I know that I won't be able to clean good for a few weeks once I have surgery... So, I will be able to recover in a nice spotless house. Just try to occupy your mind with positive things. I have always tried to remember this motto...."nothing tastes as good as thin feels".....Soon we both will know what thin feels like. Keep that vision. Good luck. please be careful!! I know a woman who did not follow liquid diet advice and when they did swallowing test in hospital she aspirated and woke up from her coma 4 months later!! She has had problems ever since
Don't want to scare you but do want you to be aware there are risks to not following dr's orders

well I "officially" lost 17.5lbs since 3/27/08 I had actaully lost almost 20lbs during 2 week pre-op diet but I got so many fluids while in hospital that when I came home on Sat. you couldn't tell I'd lost any! :')
But 17 lbs is 17lbs so I'm not going to get too discouraged!!
Just looking forward to tomorrow when I can add veggies, and Peanut Butter to my diet :0)

I, too, have surgery next Tuesday, April 22nd!!! Linda, I understand your being nervous, but when you read about all the success stories here on OH, it really is encouraging. We can do it!!! Prayers and best wishes! Jeanie
