I've been trying to eat more of a variety too.
The first time I tried pasta my pouch reaction was projectile vomiting. Since then I can eat about a quarter cup in soup or with sauce. Meat doesn't sit well with me so I've been eating beans, low fat dairy, high protein cereal, and a large selection of cheeses melted on vegetables and soups to get in my protein. I never found a protein shake I liked and I can't face another protein bar.
I bought some tortilla chips today and tomorrow plan to make nachos with refried beans and cheese mixed with salsa. Seven chips have 60 calories and four grams of protein. Topped with 1/2 cup rb & 1/4 cup cheese it should give me 20 grams of protein for a meal.

What a bunch of losers we are!!
I am so proud of all of us. My surgery was on 4/18, and I have lost 67 pounds. My son is getting married tomorrow. I bought a dress on August 3, and had to return it for a smaller size last week! THAT never happened before in my life!
My proudest moment so far: At the rehearsal dinner last night, my 3-year-old grandson came up to me, rubbed my arm and said "bootiful"! My heart melted right then and there.
Continued success to us all.
Linda

Jackie, If my calculations are right you have lost 87lbs. yourself. Congradulations!!! About the pasta try angel hair. I tried it last night and had no problem. Also I was told to over cook macarooni. It will be swelled to it's max and will not swell in the stomach. I can do potatoes anyway. I think the key is not to eat anything dry. See you lighter. Joanne

Anita, Do you have problems with all eggs. I heard alot of people say they couldn't eat hard boiled because they were rubbery. I have no problems with eggs but everything must not be dry. See you lighter. Joanne

Laura, I know exactly what youy mean. I live at the beach so have eaten alot of shellfish since surgery and I have a mental list too. I really want to try new things but will not eat them other then home. I got a plum at work oneday last week but I wouldn't eat it until I got home. It was my first piece of fruit. Sure enough, my stomach hurt and I went to bed without finishing it. WE will help each other with ideals. See you lighter. Joanne

Mendy, I heard the same thing. They said buy filet migeon. It is worth the price for the small amount you can eat. Let's face it , we are worth it ourselfs. Thanks for the ideals. All are welcome and appreciated. See you lighter. Joanne

Linda, I will have to check that out for I love macarooni and cheese but can't eat it. As for red meat, I have eaten it. I can't eat much but a hamburger is my favorite. I can eat about a half of one. When did you try the Roast beef? Was it dry? I can't eat anything dry. I do know that feeling of being in bed. Take care and see you lighter. I will let you know when I try the mac and cheese. Joanne
