Hello everyone... I haven't posted on this board for awhile, but have been lurking... The variety of foods for me has changed for me. I can't tolerate pasta I have tried it twice and both times I have ended up running to the bathroom.. No fun... But I have found that I can tolerate eggs once again. I tried them about 3 weeks out from surgery and they made me throw-up, but last night I made myself a mini omlet bacon veggie and 2 cheese. I used Egg Beaters and had no problem at all! I was shocked as I was eating it. I said to myself, Wow! I can have my omlet's again, so tomorrow I am going to make a quiche and prepare it in a couple muffin pans, so I can make indivual servings and freeze them. Then all I have to do pop it in the mircowave and presto theres a good meal loaded with protein!! I still can't tolerate beef or chicken or turkey. I tried some turkey burger the other day and it came back up after a half hour eating it. But I have found that I can eat some Beef jerky. But iits loaded with salt, so I try not to eat much of it. I make alot of bean soups with veggies and cheese. My favorite is a split pea and bacon with a some sour cream and cheddar cheese on top. I am looking into making a broccoli and cheese soup soon. My crockpot is my buddy when it come to cooking for me, since I am a single man. I just throw a bunch of beans and veggies and some times meat in it and some water and turn it on low and 10 hours later. I have a Wholesome meal for a couple weeks. I descovered a nice treat yesterday also that is loaded with protein and it is Pork Rinds, I was at Wal-Mart and for a buck fifty a bag there is 12 - 1/2 oz. servings and 9 grams of protein per serving and I had some with melted cheese on them and then add some Ranch cheese. Yummie !! Yum... Well thats what I have found is my favorites for now. Tom 536/411/200

Well as of this week it's watching The Biggest Loser on TV. lol! Nothing like watched non-WLS people lose 20+ pounds in a week to get you off your duff! lol! I upped my water intake to 96 oz a day (I've been bad about the water lately) and I lost 5 pounds this week! That's a LOT for me since I usually only lose a couple of pounds a week if that.

I love the idea of a poll. I think we should do it occasionally. I averaged the results and found that I am squarely in the middle. That validated for me that I am doing something right--not losing like a champ, but doing moderately well. Thanks for the post. Hugs, Vicki -121 incl pre op loss

Absolutely nothing motivates me to exercise. I don't even feel guilty because just the thought of putting on sneakers makes me want to lie down and take a nap. My husband says I'll feel better IF I start getting some real exercise but I can't even find the motivation to put on the damn sneakers. Isn't there a pill we can take for this? God knows I take enough supplements every day that one more won't break me.

Hi Everyone, Just got back from my morning walk. I increased it this week and I am up to 2 1/2 miles a day(Sometimes I even go again in the evening) But I have to drag myself out every day. Once I'm out there I'm okay but it's just getting myself out the door that is the problem. I usually join up with some neighbors on the street so that's a plus. I keep waiting for that exercise "high" but so far no go! My question to you is "what motivates you to exercise???" Jackie
