I started on liquids on Friday and then switched to clear liquids on Sunday and Monday and had surgery Tuesday. I honestly think that this helped me ALOT.... I think if I would've continue to eat like I was I wouldn't be doing this well!!

Hi guys I am home today and doing very well!! I feel very blessed!!! I finally found a way to lay down today without the pain... I hope that everyone that had surgery the last two days are doing great too!!! I still have some shoulder pain but it's starting to go away. One thing that has REALLY helped me is I bought a heating pad last week and its heaven. That is one huge tip for all. I put it over my incisions and also my shoulder and it's really helped. Another tip is I know it hurts but get up and walk. It makes me feel so much better just to walk a bit around the house. Hugs to all

Topic: *** CIRA
From the Maryland Board - Last Night - (With permission from Tia) CIRA IS A LOSER, NEENER, NEENER, NEENER!!! Original Post at 5:09 PM PST on 03/06/2007 Okay folks!! I just heard from Cira about 20 minutes ago!! She made it!!! WOO-HOO!! She said DVR said everything went well. She was very groggy - apparently, she's allergic to latex and had to give her massive doses of Benadryl because of the oxygen mask. Hence, a sort of funny-sounding Cira!!! She said she's not really in any pain, but she's been using the pain pump, so who knows? You remember how it was -you're in pain, but you're not, you're groggy, but you're not, etc. She did say she had a horrible dry mouth and she'd been asking for something for that for about an hour. While I was on the phone with her, a tech came in and she asked them again. He left, saying he'd get someone to get her something. I told her to keep a-pressin' that nurse button!!!! ... YAY CIRA!!!!!! Tia

Topic: Daily Thread----MARCH 07 TRAIN
Hello Everyone!!!!! On the Texas Forum they have a daily WLS TX TRAIN....its pretty neat. Everyone tells about their day and how they are doing in regard to WLS and LIFE!! It is a great support and you can tell that some wonderful friendships and bonds have been created! I thought we could start one as MARCH07 rebirths! So I will get started!! Just jump on board whenever you can through the day and lets us know how yours is going! Today I am anxious for the surgery. It seems to be consuming my thoughts and 17 days seems like FOREVER away! I need to focus on work! I work as the local rep for welcome wagon in my area. I have no appointments this morning but need to spend the morning planning for a VERY big meeting I have with one of the hospitals in the area that is a client of mine. My manager will be riding along with me this afternoon and I need to focus. HOWEVER I seem to think of nothing but my surgery!!!!! Ahhhh!!! Now as far as eating goes....Blah! I feel like I am eating everything in site. This is why that preop diet is so important to me. I have to STOP myself! I am going to give myself these next two days. Tomorrow I will be doing all of my PREOP work in Dallas so I will go out for a nice dinner there with my family and then that is it! I am going to start my healthy lifestyle on FRIDAY not the day of my surgery! Hope everyone has a FABULOUS day and please update us on your surgeries and how you are feeling about the whole thing! Allllll Abooooard!! (that's what they say in the TX forum and I thought it was neat) Rita 306/306/150

Hi Rita, My nutriontionalist insisted on the diet. But she also mentioned that if I wanted to go out for that last big steak meal or a dozen crabs (I am from Baltimore Hon), then go ahead and don't worry about it. Here is the diet she has pre-ops follow. It generally mimics what you would be able to eat about a year out. The only difference is I have been increasing the portions or protein and adding a protein shake (to help with healing after the surgery). http://www.lifebridgehealth.org/sinaibody.cfm?id=2709 Hope that helps.
