For my surgery I do not have to lose any weight pre-op. That all comes after for me. I have been consumed with my surgery stuff to. I was supposed to have surgery on the 6th but my surgeon had to reschedule for the 15th. So I have been kinda wallowing in my own stress that results from rescheduling my life around a major surgery. But I am much more ok with everything right now. Thinking positive. I went walking and I plan on exercising tonight. Eating...well I am eating bad foods but not a whole bunch. I've been drinking more water here lately than I ever have so thats good. I just want to have the surgery already!!! I want to recover and start the post-op program and watch the lbs melt away. Topic: RE: 15 year old---- GOT MY DATE FOR LAPBAND SURGERY!!!!
Just remember to take care of yourself! I am getting a RNY-Gastric Bypass so I don't know much about lapband...sorry. One of the things I have heard is that after 10 years your body starts to reject the lap band and they have to take it out. But in that time you can lose alot of weight and learn to take care of yourself to not gain the weight back. Both surgeries offer good sides and bad sides. Alot of people have great results with both surgeries. Good luck with everything and let us know how you are doing. ~Christal/dionysus_star

Topic: 3-15 - Surgery Postponed and Now a New Date!!!
March 6th was my original surgery date but my surgeon had to bump me for an emergency case. Now I have a new surgery date of Thursday March 15th. I had been told it would be scheduled for later on this week so I am dissapointed again...but I am keeping positive and I am just looking forward to the new date. ~ Christal/dionysus_star

Hi Nate. Congrats on your approval and your date. The only advice I can give you is to listen to your Dr's instructions. You have to lose a lot of weight quick, while keeping your portein levels up for the surgery. So stay on course...and did I say listen to your Dr's instructions? 15 or 55 we are all in the same boat. If you have any questions, please feel free to post them. Someone around here will be able to answer it. Best wishes as your journey begins. Hmmm...First day of spring. Should be a joke in there somewhere...but I can't think of one. Take care, Dave

Hi everyone! Im home! Can't say I feel like having a The doctor had to repair a hernia while he was putting on my band. I guess I have a little more soreness than normal, and a nagging headache. But I was up and walking. Well good luck to all I have to rest now Tara

HI there Rita!! I'll jump on the train with you (also on the Tx train). Looks like we're 1 day apart for our surgeries - mine is 3/22! Today is a bit slow at work, which makes it easy to catch up on posts here I'm looking forward to trying a new Chicken Soup that I'm cooking today in my crock pot. Hopefully it's good enough to share the recipe. I'm also spending a lot of time thinking/planning for the surgery. Seems like the only thing on my mind lately. As far as eating goes, I'm doing pretty good. I'm on a 95% liquid diet now (so I can lose enough to have the surgery), and I've been sticking with it almost religiously. I was having a really hard time yesterday with wanting to eat all day, but today is better (Thank goodness!!!). Debbi
