Are any of you now able to take pills? I have not since surgery...I open my vitamins (they are capsels) and pour them into my protein drinks. I was told nothing bigger than pencil eraser at time of surgery but wonder if this is still the case? Thanks! Sue in the Rockies 304/246/150

I can take tylenol, but it's always scary. I am concerned they will get stuck, but it's been fine so far.

I take prenatal vitamins, which are horse pills, and I have taken antibiotics which are also big, and I take tylenol, and I take antidepressants which are medium sized. They dont bother me at all. Well, the big vitamins do a little, not because of the size but because of the smell and taste, but no worse now then they would have pre op. -Sherrie

I take nexium whick is a small capliet, and a large caplet (forget the name) to prevent gall stones. The large one gives me no problem. I can finally take a centrun vitamin without any problems. mgm -69

I have been on pills since week 2 of my surgery. I do cut them. Tylenol I break in half. Dr told me not to worry. If I did not get it small enough, it would only be stuck a short time and would dissolve. So I do not worry and have had no problems. n I take approx 8 bits of pills 2 times a day as I still have my BP meds I take.

Would you believe they sent me home from the Hospital with pain meds that were pills!!! I've been taking pills since 3 days out from surgery. Now I take 2X daily 3 capsules for fiber, 1 huge Flaxseed oil gel cap, 1 capsule calcium citrate, horsepill multi-vitamin. Plus my prescription meds, all 3 small pills. I've never had one get stuck yet. I definitely can't eat anything 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after taking my pills. Happy thoughts, Va Was/Am/Wannabe 232/170/130

Hi Virginia, so now tell me about these flax seed oil pills. Even though I have been obese I have been big on nutrion for years. Omega 3 oil has been a lifesaver for me. I found that is GREATLY helped with depression etc in my life some years back for I must of been greatly lacking in this area. So I went and got me some flax seed oil to put in my protein drinks and then was told that my body does not absorb oils anymore like it used to and was a waste. Some even mentioned that after eating greasy foods that they would have oil slick in toliet after using bathroom. I have experienced non of this. Could be the differenc between proximal procedure and distal perhaps. Anyhow, have you noticed they are helping you? Digest ok? What improvments did you see after taking them? Thanks!

The flaxseed oil gel caps are also an Omega 3 but they also help with hair loss and dry skin. They were listed in the patient info packet from my surgeon for post-ops. I've had no "Oil Slicks" since starting them 2 1/2 months ago so I don't think that will be a problem. I take 3000 mg per day. My hair and skin are doing fine. Hope this helps, Va

I had a hard time with pills for the first few weeks because they felt like they were stuck in my throat, but I've been taking them since day 4.
