Congrats to all of you fellow Marchers on your wonderful weight losses, No matter how much or little you have lost so far on this Journey, Your losing and thats the most important thing... Lets all keep going and one thing I know I am sure of is I will never forget is "where I came from", and I will always be sympathetic to people who are Overweight, or have a disability I always have been all my life! I don't know about any of you , but have you noticed since your wls surgery you notice alot of overweight people around you everyday in your travels??? I especially notice it when I go food shopping and I just wanna scream and tell everyone I had wls, and How wonderful I feel, and that my Diabetis is gone , no more Insuline, no more ankle pain or lower back aches in the morning, I just want to say here is my doctors card, phone number give him a call, so the other day I was at the deli counter and noticed a beautiful young girl working there who was big and offered her my doctors number. Well to my surprise she was very excited and said she would call the next day, and she did I felt like I did my good deed for the day! This made my Heart very Happy God Bless us all and keep us all safe as we continue on this Journey! when someone needs a helping hand, no matter if it is advise or just a copy of a reference letter lets all keep giving... it wasnt to long ago that we were all looking for a kind word, a sympathetic ear, or a helping hand. God Bless! Mary

Mary,,, I agree with you. It is weird how you now just dont notice all those small sizes now, I notice all the big people too. Although I think i have it a little diffrent up here in NY. If i was to offer someone that advise or information i think I might not get a good responce. but I try with some people i know.. the best way that I have reached out is really being kind to people of size. I want to make sure just like you said, I have never forget where I came from or the pain that I felt all through my life. have a great weekend. -KIM -109

Hi Kim , I know what you mean about the N.Y. thing...lol I am a New yorker, I have only been here in Florida for 2 yrs now, and Miss it so very much. We were forced to move here after we had a terrible house fire and lost everything we owned My parents were retiring and we had no choice but to follow them here. Maybe someday we will be able to go back home, if only for a visit! God Bless you and stay healthy! Hope all your dreams come true for you! Hugz Mary

Mary, I agree with you. I am not ashamed that I had the surgery. I tell others; sometimes hoping they would want more information. I am so so thankful there was another way for me to go to get rid of this access weight.

Mary, I know what you are saying. I went into a scrapbook store to buy scrap book stuff for a friend of mine that just had WLS the day before. I was putting together a WLS journey book for her with all the postings on her surgery page and a before picture to take to the hospital. The lady that was helping me and I started to chat. I told her that I had surgery and was putting this together to visit a friend in the hosptal that just had the surgery. She Told me that one of her employees had submitted for the surgery and had been denied. Well I gave her the number for a lawyer who only deals with WLS denials, (my friend in the hospital used him) and gave her my cell number for the employee to call me if she needed to talk. I love this surgery and think every obese person should know about it and have the right to have the surgery paid for by the insurence companies as it is a medical need. Leslie
