calling all March 2004 post-ops
Well, I am down 71lbs since surgery on March 22 but I don't think I look like it. How can you lose this much weight and not look like you lost it? I am shrinking a little. My clothes are looser but I still fit in my old clothes. They are bigger but I can still wear them. It is very strange. ANyway,,,,Here is what I ate today.
b- protein shake
l-a slice of bologna and half slice of cheese in a wrap. I ate most of the bologna and cheese but ditched the wrap. Too dry. Oh, I did have a little mayo on it too.
snack-2 rye crackers with some spinach spread on it. It is a dip made with spinach and fat free sour cream and mayo.
d-a thin slice of roast beef, 1tsp cole slaw, 1 tsp mashed potato, couple bites of corn
s-sunflower seeds
I should have had another protein drink but just didn't feel like it.

Hi Deb:
I am down 52 pounds since March 18th. I am down from a size 20 to a size 14 and some 16's. I am chaning sizes pretty quickly now but it took a long time to go from a 20 to an 18 and then from an 18 to 16.
My meals:
I never eat breakfast - just have 2 cups of coffee.
For liquids I drink 32 oz of Fruit 2 O daily.
Lunch - 2 oz. chicken, and steamed zucchini
Snack: 1 90 cal. yogurt, and later 1 apple.
Dinner: 3 oz. Tilapia (fish), 1/2C basmati rice, 3 asparagus spears.
I like to have really nice and tasty meals now, since I can only eat so much.
Hope all this info helps you.

Well, reading this just really helps me put things in perspective. I know I am a slow loser, but I also see where some of you are still only able to eat 2 oz of food, while I started out with a 4 oz pouch that is now about 6 ounces or so. That's disconcerting to me still, but I'm learning to cope with it. Still, I don't see where I eat a lot, but my body likes to hold onto it!
I had surgery 3/10/04 at 325 lbs and as of yesterday I was 267 with a 57 lb loss. I am having a hard time recalling what I ate yesterday, but I'm pretty sure it consisted of a yogurt (SF/low cal), beef jerky and an apple. Instead of trying to wrack my brain on that one, I'll post my last fitday entry which was several days ago.
3/4 cup of high protein oatmeal: 198 calories and 14 grams of protein, 24 gr carbs, 3 gr fiber.
Diet cola - 4 calories, 1 gr carb
14 oz chai latte made with Carb Countdown 154 calories, 18 gr protein, 5 gr carbs
1/2 cup broccoli - 45 calories 3 gr protein, 5 gr carbs, 3 gr fiber
3 oz chicken breast - 166 calories, 25 grams protein
1 tablespoon cooking oil (est for stir fry), 120 calories
1/2 cup white sticky rice, 102 calories, 2 gr protein, 22 gr carbs.
Total: 789 calories, 57 gr carbs, 62 gr protein.
This was a high carb day for me but normally I try to keep it in the 30's and I've been doing much better getting higher protein. But even with that and walking every day and swimming many days it's still not coming off very fast.
