I'm still excited
So I posted that I tried on my goal capris in a size 6, but they had some spandex so I went to the store Monday and tried on a regular no stretch pair of size 6 jeans AND THEY FIT!! They were tight and if I would have sat down I would have shot the button off and put a hole in someones head but they fit!!!! As of today I have lost 70 pounds and weigh in at 146. I didnt think I would be in a size 6 until I got to at least 130 but I am sooo excited. I called my surgeon yesterday to let him know because his goal for me was 144 and I am 2 pounds from that. I am kinda scared because he said that I am doing so well that I will probably end up weighing around 110 which is way to small. When I reach 116 I will be in the century club. So now my goal is 115-120 and I'm hoping to reach that by my birthday which is October 3rd. I'm 31 pounds from 115 and in the month of june alone I lost 19 pounds(I did have a really bad cold though that lasted for about 6 days so that is the main reason)
I dont eat ANY bad things that I ate before, no chips no candy, dont drink soda. I tried some ritz bitz cheese crackers(4gms of sugar in 14 pieces) ate 10 crackers and dumped. I have the dumping thing bad so anything with more than 6gms of sugar per serving I cant have. Also cant eat anything high in fat. I drink almost 4 quarts of liquid a day, get in all my protein with my foods and walk 3 miles 3 times a week. I have bought the sugar free fat free Murrays cookies( I have the lemon cremes and the gingersnaps) and I eat 2 cookies as a snack if I want something sweet. They taste great and they are like a reward.
I just see a lot of people talking about how they eat things that they shouldnt and how much they are struggling with losing. there are substitutes that you can have instead of eating regular chips and cookies and candy. Hersheys has the low carb chocolate now with I think 2gms of sugar alcohol and they are tiny and taste great.
Ok I'm rambling now sorry, just wanted to share with the marchers!

GIRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLL!!!! I know you are feeling like the "bomb" and you know what???? I can't wait till I fit in a size 10 and I will feel like the "bomb". Congrats to you!!! How exciting!!!! I had my surgery 3/24/04 I started at 255lbs and I am about 5'4 so.....I was told that I would be a slow loser because my BMI was not that high. I have lost about 56lbs to 57lbs - so I think I am down to 197lbs....but believe me that was enough for me to celebrate. If I make it to size six...I don't know...I just don't know...I think I will be a "superstar"!!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Nicole - that is so fantastically exciting - I am so happy for you! I can't believe how far so many of you have come in the last 4 months. Incredible!!!
As for dumping - sorry you have so much trouble with it, but I have to say that is quite a wonderful incentive to stay on track! I don't dump a lot, but find it happens on occasion....esp if I don't buffer the carbs with protein. Funny thing is I am very afraid of trying the treats with sugar alcohols in them because they gave me diarrhea before the surgery, so I don't want to chance dumping on them. I just avoid anything like that, but will have things with Splenda if I want sweet on occasion. Generally I stick to fruit though for my sweet fix.
Either way I consider myself pretty compliant with the diet. I don't snack with the exception of sunflower seeds in the shell at work a couple nights a week, and I always emphasize protein first. Thank goodness for the low-carb frozen dinners out there now! I just don't have time to cook!
