About last week
SO last week I got off my booty and joined womans workout express... that was last week.. I failed to say how I showed up not ready to work out and just joined. For me... never have really working out before,. I got over that first step (intimidating) step last week, so this is a new week... and jsut want to let you all know that I WENT to the GYM and did a full work out today!!! (there goes my foot over step two) so i am very pleased with my self. I was nervous, but it was good. I broke a decent sweat and left feeling better about myself. I even have made certain slots in my schedule to get to the gym and JUST DO IT!

Congratulatons for making the first step, only can get healthier from this point on. I DID IT, I joined Curves tonight and I'm having the same feelings, but hope once I start on Sat things go smoothly. They have a great deal, 2 for 1 registration, with half off of that, so my yearly fee was only $37.25 as long as a friend joins before 7/11/04, and $29/mo. Now I'll see if my insurance will pay some of this bill, I'll be set.
Wish me luck and good luck at the gym, and almost hitting the century mark so soon, WOW!

Kim,
Yeah you!!! I hate to tell you this, but you may just be on your way to a new addiction. Once you get into the groove and make working out a regular part of your life, you'll wonder why you didn't do this a long time ago. I've been working out regularly for two months now and HATE it when something else comes up and I can't make it to the gym. Keep up the good work.

Great from you. This will help you in the long run so much. I joined a gym and have been working out on a regular basis. I can't believe the results that I have seen already. Of course, unlike a lot of people I started out in great shape and quite muscular, only to continue to gain weight over the years until I hit rock bottom and finally did the right thing and had surgery.
We had a speaker at our support group who said something that hit home with me. She said to make excercise like brushing your teeth, it just has to be something you do everyday. So I have taken that to heart and try to do something everyday. And as I travel quite often for work, my family got me a set of Nike bands to take with me. That way even if I'm in a place without a workout room, I can use the bands to get in a workout.
Another point to make, if you haven't already done it you should take some measurements. It is easy to get caught up with weight loss, but as muscle weighs more then fat, you can actually gain weight from working out, but lose inches. We also all know that muscle burns more calories then fat, so you create a better machine. I have lost 132 pounds since my March 1 surgery, but my loss has slowed some since I started lifting weights again, but I am losing inches.
Keep at it and congrats for making the steps.
