In memory of Momma Angel

Hey Folks, What do you all think about setting aside a time on Sunday as a memorial tribute to Momma Angel? Let's say 9:00- 10:00 pm...Either turn your porch light on for the hour or light a candle. Each time zone to do it when it's that time within their time zone. Then spend some time on the surgery pages of those having surgery in the week to come, passing on the love and concern she showered on each of us for years. Also, for the whole day, I plan to drive with my lights on to honor her. She was a beacon for many of us, making sure we knew we were not alone on this path and the way was clear. I'll be at work and won't be able to do the candle/light thing but I just wanted to say what a wonderful idea this is. I'll sign some surgery pages in her memory when I can get to the internet either on my break or when I get home. Dina

What a lovely tribute! She was indeed an encourager of hundreds, if not thousands of us. We will have brightened the world much, if we just follow her example a small amount! Joy

I think your thought is wonderful and I will be still at 9:00 p.m. and say a prayer for Momma Angel. I feel really stupid for asking, Va, but perhaps I was not active on the board when Momma Angel was -- I simply don't know who she is. Can you tell me about her? First off Momma Angel was the unofficial OH welcoming committee. She took it upon herself to see to it that every member was welcomed to the site. Just about every person on this site has a message from Momma Angel on their surgery page. Momma Angel chose some time ago not to have WLS, she became ill about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago. Was hospitalized with breathing difficulties, then ended up on a vent and passed away last week. Her funeral was last weekend. We are trying to keep up her good work of making sure surgery pages are attended to by the whole group. You can find more detailed info on the Main Message board but you will have to go back through to last week.
