There were nice little wls surprises this week. Went to the movies last night. Not only did I NOT have to wedge my butt in the seat with a shoehorn, I had plenty of room to spare. There's a restaurant near work that people go to for lunch every once in a while. I've always hated going there, because I can't sit in a booth and breathe. They have no tables. Last week I begrudgingly went and not only could I sit in the booth, I could have parked a bus between my stomach and the table. Wow.... just how big was I before? A friend that I haven't seen in a year and didn't tell about the surgery, flew into town Wednesday. I thought his jaw was going to hit the ground when he saw me. All night he kept telling me how wonderful I look. That was so wonderful for the ego. Went dancing and didn't sweat like a pig and die on the dance floor. Went shopping in my closet again and found that my size 18 pants are fitting. The size 20 tops are fitting now. I have the curse of Grandma's arms so could probably wear an 18 in tops if it weren't for the darned arms. Got to wear my favorite suit to work yesterday. I'm probably going to have to actually buy clothes by the end of summer. Oh darn. Right after surgery, I bought myself a ring, but didn't have it sized. It's a size 7 and the sales guy looked at me with a smug, condescending look when I told him I didn't need to get it sized because it would fit soon enough. Ha! It fits the left hand. It's a little tight on the right hand, but will be fine in another month or so. Had my check up with the surgeon's office yesterday. They are pleased. I am pleased. This has been the first week that I've really seen the physical difference in me and I'm starting to get excited about this now. Hope you all had a great week. Connie

Good for you Connie, Sounds like you had one heck of a great week yourself! It is about that time that I think we are all really starting to get a sense of what this is all about. I too, am just at the point where I am realizing, wow..I dont look all that bad, clothes fit, booths fit, etc..it is great. Just wish I could get out long enough to go dancing!! Sounds like a blast! My doc says that it takes longer for our heads to respond to the surgery than it does for our bodies. I think we are just beginning to take in our new images! Isn't it great? Joy

I just wanted to tell you that I went for my 3 month follow up (a little early) and I've lost 60 pounds of ugly fat!!!! My Doc is very pleased with my progress and took me off my last Diabetes med and also my Blood Pressure meds!!!! I was taking 5 diabetes meds and 1 blood pressue med before surgery. The only thing I take in pill form now is my vitamins! That's the first time in well over 15 yrs. I've found too that I don't get as tired as I used to. I have energy to burn, literally! My house is spotless!!!! And I work full time. Everyone at work is commenting on my new found energy and my new found appearance. A guy from another office in my buillding called to apologize for not speaking that morning. He didn't recognize me!!! He also said "looking good, girl!!" I haven't heard that from a man in a long time!!! I am just soooo thankful this is showing results now. I'm like everyone else though, when I pass a mirror, I still don't see much difference. But my clothes sure show it! I'm down 4 sizes in dresses. I cleaned out my closet and had 14 dresses I can't wear anymore. I didn't even realize I HAD 14 dress!!! I took them to a local consignment shop and got a cute little outfit that is about 4 sizes smaller and it fits!!!! I just wanted to share my great week too!!! I've had some complications and it's been a rough row to hoe, but it seems to be getting better every day!!! Good luck to everyone reading this!!! God is Good!!!!! Bonnie
