Good morning! Wanted to share a tip from my surgeon on how to determine if you are absorbing your multi-vitamin properly (if you use something other than the chewables). I switched to the pre-natal One Source. My surgeon says to place the vitamin tablet in a shot glass of water and, if it dissolves within 15 minutes (the less time it takes, the better), you are getting good absorption. My dissolved in about 7 minutes, so I feel much better about not taking those chewables any more! Just thought I'd pass that along. And by the way, I notice a difference in my energy level since I switched. I like these vitamins a lot -- thanks for the tip from a Board member, whom I can't remember past it along to me! They can be found at Walmart and are about $5.00 a bottle of 60. Have a great day! Maureen

Thank you for the info I will try it right now with my vitamins. If it doesn't work I'll switch to yours. Louise

My problem are the horse pills!! They literally hurt my throat. Is One Source small or big? I also wish I could find small calcium pills. In the meantime, I continue to chew, chew, and chew! Karel

Karel, I can take the vitamin whole without any problem -- I just swallow slowly and carefully. It is oval shaped but small. I use the calcium chews instead of pill form. They are very tasty! Hope this helps. Maureen

LaRhonda, they are called One Source and can be found at Walmart. Be sure to get the prenatal type! They come in regular, I think a women's variety, and then pre-natal. The pre-natal are an excellent source of exactly what we need. Maureen

Hey girl! These are the exact same ones I use!! "one Source" prenatal. I stood at Walmart comparing and they stack up very nicely. I also use the "one source" hair, skin and nails. One of each every morning and everynight.Don't smell the hair ones..YUCK!! When I switched from the chewables to these (it's been a little over 2 weeks I noticed a HUGE difference in how I felt.) I wasn't to worried about them dissolving because I cut them into 3rds every time I take them!! (I'm a ninny when it comes to swallowing anything I can't chew!!...I keep thinking about that "dime size stoma"!!! But I am so glad to know that they dissolve good. Especially since I like them and they are priced right!! Kym -57

So you're the one that gave me this great tip, Kym -- thanks! I only take them once a day though. I compared the stats to the Flinstones chewables and it seemed to me that 1 pre-natal One Source equaled 2 Flinstones. I don't think I'd want to overdo the vitamins -- are you sure you should be taking it twice a day??? Maureen

I think I emailed you a response but just in case.... The serving size listed on the bottle for the vitamin stats are 2 caplets. I didn't do well with flintstones. I needed somthing more. I really feel better with these. I don't know what the starts are for the flinstones. I just go by the serving size listed. So I take one in AM and one in PM. If you only take 1 cut the vitamin percentages in half. I'm not worried about too much because we don't absorb everything plus I eat very little. I heard someone else say they try to keep everything at 200%. I personally don't do that but obviously my body needed more. I just can't tell you how much better i feel!!! Kym

Maureen!!! You are an angel I was JUST talking today about the fact that I felt as though I was not getting the right answers from my surgeon and nutritionist regarding the absorbtion of the vitamins. This answers my question perfectly. Which I couldnt really think what I wanted to ask...BUT I guess the question would have been How much time does our new bodies take to absorb vitamins and how can I tell my body is absorbing them! Maureen you are a God Send for this! I am going to check my vitamins now ;) Thanks for the new info! Elizabeth M -62lbs
