HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
I've had a great day. Turned 48 today and for the first time in more years than I care to admit, I am HAPPY on my birthday. My 16 year old daughter (who is truly a remarkable young woman) took me shopping and we had a great time together. I actually bought a few things that are several sizes smaller than pre-surgery. More importanly, I had energy to spare to keep me going, and walking, and just enjoying myself. Today I am grateful -- for my new job, which I love; for being able to play with my children, which I have really never been able to do; for seeing the reflection of my newly emerging thinner face smiling back at me with happy eyes full of hope, not despair and defeat; for friends like you who have carried me through many bad moments. Thanks for being there. I had to renew my driver's license and the difference in the photo is remarkable. I didn't know! Stay on track, folks. Do the work, be grateful, and stick close to each other! We're only just beginning and the sky is the limit!!! Love to you all, Maureen

Happy Birthday. I am so thrilled you were HAPPY today! I just had one a few weeks ago..and I can relate to the feelings you mentioned.
You and I are joined at the hip now..same surgery dates and bdays within weeks of eachother!
Keep up the great work, and lets live every day like its our birthday. We can choose to be Happy!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAUREEN! I'm going to have to renew my license next month but I don't get a new card since it's all done by mail. But you can bet your sweet bippy that when I lose enough to see a noticable change/get close to goal, I will be having it done again. Somehow I think I'll just happen to lose it or something! 
BTW - I would love to see a new pic of you! I imagine the difference is incredible! Oh - and you have your dates showing your surgery in August on your profile!!!

Happy belated Birthday Maureen I am so happy for you. The relationship you have with your sixteen year old daughter is wonderful. Most sixteen year olds wont go shopping with mom any more.
