Hi! Everyone, I am experiencing my first platue and instead of dwelling on it, I am trying to embrace it! What I mean by that is, I am allowing myself not to get upset because I remind myself that my body loved me no matter how big I got and now I am loving and supprting it while it takes a break from all of the hard work it has been doing to help me lose this weight. Stressing about these things will only make me want to eat more or be less active and I am not doing those things to myself anymore, this surgery is a tool for our minds also and I am glad I recognize in myself what would normally trigger stress but now I choose to handle in a much healthier way. I am having trouble getting food in after I drink my protien shakes but I get all my water in and protien each day- good for me there! If we can't support ourselves who can we support? I love me, I am a great person, friend, daughter, boss, wife and mother- just reading this makes me that much happier!! This surgery and everyone's support has changed and blessed me immensly- A true thank you to all of you!

Dawn, What a beautiful way to deal with your platue. I to have decided that when I am not losing just to relax and the weight will have to come off because I am doing what I am supossed to do so it will have to drop sooner or later. I don't eat much food per say but I do take protein and my water , Also I exercise. God bless you . Sarah T

Dawn, Thats great! I wasn't as relaxed...and thats bad because stress = water weight gain. SO once I finally calmed down and reviewed everything and adjusted my food it started to come off again. It will pass and all will be well again Best Wishes! Elizabeth M

Dawn, I have read about quite a few folks going through a weight-loss plateau. I am sure that I will, too, and appreciate your positive attitude toward it. One thing I have read is that while you're not losing pounds you're losing inches. So, take some general measurements and compare those. And/or notice how your clothes are getting looser! Keep on drinking that H2O! L Y N N 298/236/150

Dawn, I wish I had read your post before I hit my BIG plateau..but that was really early out and I'm glad you didn't plateau that early though . When I did I was so stressed and depressed, I think it was because I had lost 22# in 2 weeks then NOTHING for almost 4. At that time I was so new to WLS (even though I had read everything on the topic) that I honestly did actually think maybe I would be the one it wouldn't work for. I think that now if I were to plateau again that I would have your attitude and just be so happy about the 50 that are already gone. When I met with my trainer last week he told me to only weigh once a month as weight training=muscles=less weight initial weight loss=more weight loss/inches lost in the future. So now I haven't weighed in 2 weeks and don't care anymore, but can tell the clothes are getting loser YEAH!!! I know you will soon pick up the weight loss and keeping eating and exercising will help it be sooner. I hear that adding an extra 25-40 oz of water a day will really kickstart you again. beautyhealthandyou.myarbonne.com

Great Attitude Dawn! I just came througha 3-4 week plateau, and I stressed a bit, but I found some of that was due to my hitting the scale tooooo much. While you're on that plateau, try not to weigh yourself more than once a week. Also, what helped me to break mine was taking my protein drinks - 1 when I got up in the am and 1 right before bedtime (supposed to fool the metabolism into not shutting down for the night). And, most important is what you are doing - be kind to yourself and don't beat yourself up. Enjoy life and focus on those things you can now do that you couldn't do pre-op. mgm
