Gaining Weight After Surgery

Hi Everyone, I was just scanning around on the older message boards and noticed that there are alot of people out there around 3-5 years out that are gaining back their weight. It was really scary to read their stories and I really felt their pain I just wanted to bring this up only because its something that we all have to be reminded of, that this "honeymoon" will not last but a year (aprox.) We have a year of preparation to "prepare" ourselves for a new way of eating and living. I felt so bad for those people that had gained 80 pounds 40 pounds they were so discouraged and knew their pain all too well. They also knew what they were doing wrong...which was not eating their protein foods but eating the crackers and such. They mentioned eating the protein and still not feeling "full" mentally. I think I still struggle with that. I think it is something I will always struggle with. I have seen all the Carnie posts but its good to see the people on AMOS that are also dealing with this as it is on a more personal level for me. So for me I keep telling myself...Get into those good habits now so they last forever! I just wanted to share with all my fellow marchers! Tons of Blessings everyone! Elizabeth M -59lbs

Elizabeth, There was an article on Good Morning America about keeping weight off after it has been lost. http://abcnews.go.com/sections/GMA/DrJohnson/Diet_registry_040602-1.html I'm really working hard to get in the exercize groove because I know that's the key for me. Connie

Thanks for the article Connie, Its so true that it is going to be just normal for us in a year or so we will really have to stick with the exercise. We will still have a great tool to use to our advantage but it is still going to be work. I need to get into the exercise routine and make it a part of my life. Just to wake up knowing that "today I am going to exercise because its what I do just like eating" is going to be hard for me. Actually its more the getting started in the routine that is so hard. I know once I really committ and get in that routine the weight will really start to come off. I have been upping it slowly and have already noticed a difference. The weight is comming off a little at a time but its working I reached a 60 pound loss today and I am just soooo excited!!! Thanks again for the article Best Wishes! Elizabeth M -60!
