revision due to stricture

Has anyone else had major stricture problems? I will throw up and have pain after most meals. Mainly protien! I can eat crackers and crunchy things like tortilla chips without a problem though. Yesterday I had 2 bites of tuna salad and 2 bites of chicken salad and was awful. I can't eat eggs or meats well. I just got out of the hospital for tests to make sure I didn't have a stricture at the intersection of the 2 intestines and another dialation. My stricture is where the stomach meets the small intestine. I have been dialated 6 times and stretched as large a 12 mm, but the improvement doesn't even last 1 day. Dr. is planning to do another surgery and do a revision of that intersection. Any one else dealing with this??? thanks Debra

Ah, Debra, take heart and know that at least you and your doctor have identified the problem and can now set about solving it. Try to think beyond this period of complications and envision a happy, healthy life -- just around the corner...you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Maureen

Deb, My surgeon put a stint in there. Could this be an option for you? It has worked wonders for me. Wouldn't hurt to ask. Gary

No, but I did get to know a woman in my surgeon's waiting room who had to have a revision due to a stricture. She found her second surgery much less a big deal than the first and then did really well. I will hope for the same outcome for you. I saw her when she had lost all her weight and was way happy. thank yo all for the positive responses. I do feel like I am nearing a solution. Gary, I have asked my surgeon and my gastroenterologist about a stint and neither are aware of that as an option. Do you know how I can get more information on that??? thanks to you all... Debra
