I just wanted to send an update about my son and thank everyone for their kind thoughts and commitment to praying for him. I received word about an hour ago that his sleep study will be done on June 6th, 3 weeks earlier! Praise God! We had to take him to the ER on Tuesday night, he started having convulsions during his sleeping times. If you have never had to experience the sights of seeing your child in such states, please remember to hug them and hold them tonight, and by all means remember the blessing and honor you have been given by being allowed to be their parents. I can not tell you what it feels like. We have 6 other children (ages 7,8,9,10,12, and 14). This has been more than they can handle sometimes. And just when I lose hope, I see my 14 year old come in the house carrying his sleeping little brother, who seconds ago was awake and playing catch like a normal 8 year old, and know that God has a plan for our whole family through all of this and we will grow. I will keep you updated and again thank you for your prayers and kind thoughts. Janelle and Traeven

((Janelle)) I am happy to hear his sleep study is coming up soon. Please post the results here. I cannot imagine having to watch your son go through this. You don't know how much I hug my son and think of the troubles of others. It is good to frequently count our blessings.... Dina

Janelle, I really do have an idea of what you're going through. When my son was about 4 or 5, he started having these "fits" where he would scream, literally pull his hair and then pass out. After coming to, he would have an asthma attac****il that point, I had never been more scared nor felt so helpless. They finally diagnosed an infection in his brain, or rather the lining and treated it. Before too long, he was back to his old self. As a teenager, his behavior became more and more strange. It turned out that he had a serious mental illness. We've been through multiple suicide attempts, hospitalizations and more than our fair share of visits from the local police. He's been institutionalized since last August, but thankfully, things are starting to turn around. The meds seem to be working and he has many more up days than down now. Hopefully he'll be home soon. He's 19 now and has plans to start college in the fall if things hold together for him. I really understand the frustration and helplessness you feel when your baby isn't well, no matter how old they are. All you can do is pray like mad and fight like hell to get them the help they need. Hang in there. I'm praying for both you and Traeven. Hugs, Connie

Can I say my heart is breaking to pieces reading your posts. God Bless you guys a thousand times over. I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. My heart goes out to you more than you know. God bless you guys with strength and comfort. A a mother I can almost feel your pain and struggle because I look at my little guy and imagine in such a real way how that would be. I will always keep you guys in my prayers. God definitely does have a plan. Again bless you through these hard times and always remember the famous footprints in the sand poem. It is at those hard times that He carries us. Elizabeth M
