Question for all~ I was able to eat one of those single servings of Busch's baked bean. It took about 20 min. Did I eat too much? Marissa

Beans fill me up really fast but I don't think it was too much...did you feel really full? Did you feel the need to spit up some of the food? If yes then it was too much for you right now. Also even if the sugar doesn't bother you be careful you don't overdo it...it can make weight loss MUCH slower. I haven't tried ANYTHING with over 5-7 grams of sugar and don't plan to until I am at or very near goal. beautyhealthandyou.myarbonne.com

Amber~ Thank you for your advice. I did feel full but not the full that makes me Sugar does not seem to bug me, so my doc just told me to watch my sugar intake. Which I only use as a treat. Thank you for not flaming me on my choice unlike some on the main MB. Marissa -50lbs

Marrissa, It is okay to treat yourself once in a while jus****ch those scales if they start to move up jump off go for a walk and cut down the food a bit. Drink more water and then look at that scale and low and behold you lost again... Have a good day Merrissa we all try to help and encourage each other on this March board stick around here and we will encourage you. Sarah T

Beans was one of the first items I could eat after soft foods. Do not worry. As long as it did not make you sick.

Oh no Beans!! Aren't those CARBS???? CARBS are EVIL!! Really, I'm only kidding!! If you get sick you ate to much is what I've been told. Some things we can eat more of like chili. As long as you listened to your body about when it's full you should be ok!! Kym -55

I don't think it was too much. How many ounces was it? Beans are easy to digest, a great source of protein, and the carbs in beans are complex carbs - the kind that are good for you. It is the simple carbs that we need to avoid - they are in sweets, bread, and pasta. Sounds to me like you made a good choice. Louise

Marissa, the problem with Busch's baked beans is that they are loaded with sugar. Otherwise, beans are a good source of complex carbohydrates, and loaded with nutrients. Just be careful and read the labels so that you can see how much hidden sugar you're ingesting with foods like these. Take care and be well. Maureen

Hi MB, Havent tried the Bush's Baked Beans, I usually stick with refried beans...I can eat a pretty good amount of beans. They go down nicely. Not sure how many ounces are in that single serving but I can eat about 3 heaping tablespoons. Nice little recepie is to get your refried beans...get low fat sour cream (if you can tolerate it) get the tacobell mild sauce mix it up with the sour cream and get the thinly shredded lowfat cheese and a little bit of salsa and it makes the yummiest bean dip (minus the crackers though) I had that last night and ate about 3 tablespoons of it and it went down very easily If you got nauseous or felt bad then you ate too much, but if not you probably did fine Lots of Luck to ya!
