BMI changes and other stuff!

Hi everyone -- The past few days my weight loss has picked up again which is wonderful. However I know I suffer from an ailment known as "unrealistic expectations" . I had expected a much greater weight loss than this by this point - but I can't complain in the least, there has never been a time in my life when I have felt more in control of my eating than now. So, I wanted to check how other things have changed for me and I recalculated my BMI. I have gone from a BMI of 63 to a BMI of 53 and in 4 more lil points I will only be MORBIDLY OBESE . That is not something to shoot at for most people, but for me, there was never a time in my life that was more depressing than when my surgeon classified me as SUPER SUPER MORBIDLY OBESE in my request for surgery. Last night my hub and I bit the bullet and joined a fitness club, and he is committed to working out with me. For this I am very thankful because honestly, I think every pound I've lost - he has found - with relish! Last night I had to reprimand him for trying to finish my dinner (we were at a meeting in a restraunt and were served normal dinners). He seems to want to eat everything that I can't finish, and I have to say there are times when I just have to walk away because watching him eat like that makes me relatively nauseaous. Anyone else feel that way about their spouses? Anyway -- time to go back to working! Take care and I hope everyone has a great Memorial Weekend! Lissa 387/333/150

Hey Lissa, Congrats on the upcoming BMI milestone!!! I was very happy to be simply obese rather than morbidly obese!! Now the pounds creep by and I'm very impatient to just be "overweight". Concerning your husband's finishing your food. At home I get up and take my plate to the sink and scrape it off into the garbage disposal. No second chances there. In public I take my napkin and utensils and put them in the center of the plate and set it off to the side. The wait staff will usually snatch that plate up so fast he doesn't have a chance to pick at my leftovers. I saw on another board where a woman poured salt all over her "leftovers" so hubby wouldn't pig out and she wouldn't be tempted to eat more than she should. I haven't tried that yet but I would do it to keep hubby away if necessary. Everyone have a fun and safe weekend!! Happy thoughts, Va Was/Am/Wannabe 232/185/130

I started with a BMI of 57 and I'm down to a 47.8 I believe, and very happy... Congratulations on your loss, you're doing great, and as for the hubby fininshing food problem, I've remedied this by only buying one meal, I eat what I want from it and he can fini**** (since it's actually his meal anyway) and it's helped with our food budget too!!! Love ya Lori
