Amazing Rob News!

Hello everyone! I had a great weekend with Rob! He was able to stay off the ventilator for 24 hours as of this morning! This is a major turning point in his recovery. I saw him both days this weekend and his progress is remarkable. Yesterday hospital staff were planning on when to move him to a regular hospital room this week! Once he gets in the regular room he will start physical therapy. Also he should be able to talk sometime this week. He does still have an issue that will be addressed on Wednesday: He will have minor surgery on the pressure sore on his back to aid in its healing. It is possible it will require skin grafts. Here is just one example of how quickly he is improving: On Sat. he was barely able to soak one of those spongy sticks in a cup of water and then put it in his mouth to get the moisture. Yesterday he was able to hold the cup himself and drink the water. Amazing! Yesterday afternoon he watched the Mariners game and they had the good grace to win for him. All our prayers have been answered. Thank you so much for your support. The nightmare is over, and now the work begins. Kat

Oh, Kat this is wonderful news! I am so glad to hear this about my surgery twin. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and wish his recovery could have been as uneventful as mine. I am thanking God right now for pulling him through, and for giving him you and his mother to look after him all this time. Bless you both! Tell him to hurry back, ok? Lee M. 266/217/137
