How is everyone's hair doing?
I am not losing hair but it is certainly freaking out. I have naturally curly course thick hair. Always have and always thought I would. This is gonna sound weird but the top of my head is totally straight!! The sides and back and the rest of it is curly. I am wondering if I am going to end up with a head full of straight thick hair!! When I was a teen and in my early twenties I really struggled with my hair trying to straighten it out. By the time I reached my late twenties I just learned to deal with it! I am used to my curly hair now!! What am I gonna do with straight hair??? I dont even know how to fix it. It is really weird!!

I see in your pic that your hair is quit long. Mine was too and it was recommended to me to cut my hair shorter. They said that even with the protein the hair will go through some changes because of the rapid weight loss and it becomes weaker and sometimes brittle. The weight of longer hair effects the hair loss.
I was also told to never use a scrunchie during this time. Because it breaks the hairs. I was very sad when I cut my hair, but was so afraid of having bald spots

I'm so sorry! Everyone says that the loss is temporary. At least you started out with a lot! I heard that by the time you notice the loss you can see short new hairs coming in. Maybe that will encourage you.
Get in as much protein as you can. If you can't stand the protein drinks, try bars. Or mix it into pudding. Add low fat cheese to everything. What your hair is doing now is the result of trauma at surgery time, not really what you are doing now. I can't remember--did you have trouble keeping things down the first few weeks? That would make it worse now.
Mostly, just hang in there--you won't go bald and it will come back.
(Great weight loss, by the way!)

Hi Joy and everyone,
My hair is starting to fall out. But I completely expected it. I loose alot of hair from anesthesia. My tonsil operation 2 years ago (worse pain EVER!
) and when I had my gall bladder out last year. I lost a TON of hair at around 3 months out. So keep that in mind as well for people that are really starting to loose that hair - could be from anesthesia as well. I just saw my doctor today and he agreed about the anesthesia and also told me to up my protein just in case to 120g a day. I usually do about 80g My hair has grown alot though. Oh and the hair always grew back. Had all these awkward little baby hairs.
Dont worry its only temporary
Chins up!
