2 months down - a lifetime to go

Well yesterday was my 2 month mark, and all is well! I'm down 43 lbs since surgery (62 since my 1st surgeon consult in Nov). Clothes are falling off. Friday at work two people commented that clothes are looking baggy. One said that it looked as if I had my father's suit jacket on!! Pulled out some clothes this weekend that I haven't worn in years. I know this journey has been a roller coaster with it's ups and downs. Now comes the best part of that coaster ride - the downs in weight and inches - the ups in energy, happiness, and love of life! I had to rent a car today and it was the first time I've done that where I wasn't concerned if I was going to "fit" into the car they gave me. I fit fine, and so did the seat belt. I can walk 2 miles at a time with my 7 year old daughter without a problem. Last week I even walked her to the park 1.5 miles away - she played for half an hour - then we walked the 1.5 miles back home. No huffing and puffing - No back pain - Just tired legs and a great sleep that night!! I've finally beat the protein drink slump and have something that works for me, so that's no longer a problem. All I can say is that I have been truly blessed - to have been given this opportunity, to have found this message board and all you great friends in cyber world, to have my life back, and best of all - to really be able to spend spend time doing things with my daughter that 2 months ago I couldn't even dream about!! Thank you to all of the great people on this board that have unselfishly supported me and others. You are an awesome bunch!! mgm -43

Marla, congrats!, wow I cant believe someone said that it looked like you had your fathers jacket on! I hope it was a VERY good friend that told you that. Otherwise - How rude! (even if they didnt mean it) people can become de-sensitized. Its almost as if they are thinking since we shared that we had surgery for weight loss that means open season for them to make their comments since they couldnt before. people!
