Protein Balls -- I was intrigued
Hi All --
I read the protein ball recipe request and was intrigued because I'm getting sick of shakes! So I looked up a recipe and decided to try it...but it didn't fit my protein powder very well so I had to make some adjustments.
I LOVE THESE! They taste like Reese Peanut Butter Cups to me and are perfect for when I am really having a hard time.
The nutritional info is approximately:
146 calories per ball
9 grams Fat
6.5 grams Carbs
9.5 grams Protein
They are higher in fat that I'd like, but hey -- for a rich and delicious protein source -- I'll take it for a treat.
The recipe is:
10 packets Splenda
1 1/2 cups Adams No Stir No Sugar Added Crunchy Peanut Butter
1 1/2 cups Powdered Non-Fat Milk
1 cup Light Philadelphia Cream Cheese
5 scoops Chocolate Protein (Whey) Powder (I use Pro-Rated)
Blend everything together and then roll into balls. I was able to get 27 balls and thus my nutritional info might differ from your's. One scoop of my protein powder has 22 g protein, 1.5 g fat and 4 g carbs. So depending upon what mix you use, that could alter some things as well.
Due to the cream cheese -- these should be refridgerated. I ate two balls today and I'm stuffed.

Hi Joy --
It was just at my local grocery store in the Peanut Butter section. We have the non-mixed kind too but I hate that oil *ick*.
Its made my Adams which is a pretty common brand out here in the West - they make the natural peanut butter. If you can't find it, you should call the supermarket you frequent most often and ask if they do special orders at all for items. Mine does.
