It seems that I'm on a plateau more often not. I have my period, lose three pounds then go on another plateau just before I gain weight due to water retention. It seems like I'm only losing about 5 pounds a month and I KNOW it should be more than that! It's really eating my lunch (pun wished)! Gayle -37 is this about on track?

I don't know if what you are experiencing is on track but I had my surgery March 16 and had a 5 week plateau. I lost absolutly nothing for 5 weeks and as of today my small grand total is 26 pounds. To me that is slow but the up side is the weight is coming off for both of us. Keep up the good work...........

Hi Gayle. I totally understand. I'm at -42, and stuck again. I think you are on track. We are all going to lose at a different rate, but there are a great number of us on this board that seem to be going at about the same pace. I'm not thrilled with the stoppages, but without the surgery I would be at least 42 lbs heavier right now. This plateau stuff is for the birds though. As I'm writing this all sorts of stuff flew into my mind about the things I can do now that I couldn't do pre-op. I've just decided that I'm going to lay off the numbers for awhile, and stay off the scale. Maybe if I concentrate on doing the things I can now do (like walk 2 miles) it will be easier. Not sure if it will work, but it's worth a try! mgm

Gayle- We had surgery the same day and I'm having the same experience as you. I'm down 35 lbs. and most of it was the first 3 weeks and a 4 lb drop last week and nothing since then. I guess I'm glad to know that I'm normal. I'm just envious of the minority who drop like mad!! thanks! Stacie 299/264/150

Gayle- I checked out your profile and we were probably in the same hospital too! My surgeon was Dr. Ali with Dr. LePort's group. That is really wild! -Stacie

Gayle, You said it 'seems like I am only losing 5 lbs a month'..you aren't even a month out yet and you are down 37#. That is really fantastic. Did you mean 5# a week? I had surgery around the same time as you and have lost 43#'s. I had a 3 1/2 week stall but then I upped my cardio and weight training and switched vitamins from flinstones and calicum chews to this great vitamin by Arbonne that has everything you need in just one am pill and one pm pill..PHARMICEUTICAL GRADE and only about $15 +/- a month...my doc says this is healthier for me than the chewables email me if you want any more info on these vitamins..Arbonne also has a great protein supplement.......I was gonna try Carnies Vista Vitamins but they were to $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Gayle - I'm right with you there sister. You are doing great, so try not to sweat it. I was at 36 lbs lost this time last week and that was a full 2 months out. FINALLY had another whoosh and am down 40, but it has gone so slowly. I was 2 months and 5 days before I got to 40 down. But the thing is - as someone else wrote me, when have you ever lost 40 lbs in 2 months before? It's been a very long time for me and it's always been while completely fasting. The key I'm trying to focus on is that it's not how fast I lose it, but the fact that it's permanent! Dina

I am so glad everyone posted. I am also 2 months out and -35. I was getting very disappointed until I read all your posts. Seems like with the little we eat it should drop off quicker... I too lost most in the first month, almost nothing in the last month. Glad to know we are all in the same boat. Donna
