Wow Mariam, You bet I did; and it got so bad I could not even hold down water. I had my stricture dialated twice; but I am doing much better now. Mine happened at only 4 weeks out. It took quite a while to heal 4-6 weeks; but meds took care of it. Just take very good care of yourself. Despite these complications I would still do the surgery. How about you? My surgery lap RNY was Feb 07; my weight loss is about 45 since surgey. What type did you have and where are you at your weight loss.. Sincerely, Judy R.

OHHHH!!! THAT DOES MAKE ME FEEL BETTER!! I am one of the slow losers too!! I had my surgery on 2/28 and I've lost 46 lbs since then. It is so frustrating to see other people who had the same amount of weight to lose, have their surgery the same day as mine and be close to their halfway mark when I'm still struggling just to make it to 50 lbs! Some days, I secretly do think that I've made a mistake. (I've lost more and faster doing the Atkins diet. HMMPH!!) But then again, all of those pounds came back and brought their friends!! So if I'm not losing muscle, that is a great comfort at least!

Okay everyone...here it goes Surgery Date: Feb. 13, 07 Lost so far: 60 pounds Start Weight: 260 pounds Current Weight: 200 pounds To Dr. Goal: 50 pounds To my goal: 65 pounds I can tolorate pretty much anything right now..I haven't had the dumping yet and pray I never do. Things have been going pretty good and this is the best thing I could have done in my life. I have people who only see me every now and then come up and say "Wow you've lost alot of weight....you look great" Let me tell ya it feels great to hear that from people who see you every day and once in a while. I work at a school as a secretary so its hard to get the exercise during the day. I walk as much through the school as possible and stick to the diet drinks. I love the way I look and love shopping in the misses section even better!!!!! I hope to hear that everyone else is doing well also. I've been a slow looser but its okay with me as long as I'm loosing. Everyone is different so be happy with what your body is doing. Marie

I know one of our very own surgery sisters who has had several complications including ulcers (the least of her issues). I don't know what caused them or how she is being treated as she has other issues that are primary right now. If I learn anything, I will certainly let you know! Shelley

When was your surgery date? Feb. 20, 2007 How much have you lost so far? 66 lbs. How much to your goal? 40 lbs Linda, I have also done the CIB drink and it agreed with me and was great...my doctor and nutritionist actually are the ones who told me about it...it is on my OK to eat list. It is best to do the suger free but I do whatever I have. It is just hard for me to eat in the morning and that does really well for me. Occassionally I have a yogurt instead. For lunch I usually have a 1/2 turkey or tuna sandwich and then in the afternoon maybe some nuts or beef jerky or a protein bar, then for dinner, any meat and vegie/salad. I have not had a realy appetite and that CIB really got me through the first 8 weeks. All doctors are different and if you know your body, just make sure to take care of it. Take care- Mariam

Topic: Has anyone had ulcers?
Hi everyone! Yesterday I had to have another endoscopy to dilate my stricture...which went fine and I now can eat again...however they found a large ulcer...which I did not have before my surgery. So I am now on a liquid medicine for the next 8 weeks. Anyone else have this? Thanks a bunch! Mariam

Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I've lost 86 pounds overall but only 36 of them since the surgery on 2/26/07. I have been stuck and it is depressing and frustrating. Sometimes I wonder if the surgery was done wrong or maybe there is just something wrong with me. I can't exercise due to immobility and Prednisone is taken daily for RA and that gets in the way of weight loss so I have obstacles too. I'm trying to keep positive but those blues just sneak up on me sometimes. I am grateful for the WL to date and feel so much better than I did at 365 pounds. I can breathe easier and am more comfortable. I thank God for this website and all of you who are there to share and listen. XOXO

Surgery date: Feb 26, 2007 Weight loss to date: Only 36 since surgery but 86 overall How far til goal: I have too far to my goal to even think about it. How to help someone stuck: I really don't know since I feel stuck myself. I guess just letting folks know they are not alone. I have been stuck and it is depressing and frustrating.
