Hiya Ladies!! Happy New Year I had a nice relaxing day. It rained all day so I decided to spend my day on the couch doing nothing after I cooked! We watched movies and played on the floor with Minnie. Did anyone do anything exciting or did you have an exciting night last night to bring in the New year? Last night we went to dinner then to a club. There are so many different things that people eat on New year. What do you eat? Did you eat the same things you usually do or something different? My new years dinner was.. Roast made in the crock pot.. it was so tender and yummy, collard greens, potato salad and tiny peice of corn bread. I even had my first taste of real sweets today. I usually only do SF stuff but today I had the real deal. It was only 3 bites but it was cheesecake with blueberries. YUM-O Have a great evening, Kay

Sounds like you had lots of fun, Kay! I went down to Tommy's house and spent the evening with his family. His Cousin In Law (lol) made her first ever dinner for more than 4 people. She made a turkey, potatoes, stuffing, rolls, gravy and sweet potatoes. She did a great job! We stayed from 5:30 to 11:50 pm... then ran down to his house and rung in the New Year alone... it was magnificent. He came racing in and swept me off my feet and planted a big one on me he he... I just had to share Its just amazing how one's life can change in a year... simply amazing. I can do the real stuff... but I have to watch the sugar intake... if I eat too much, I'm asleep for twenty minutes lol! I don't get sick sick, but boy am I knocked out

New Year's night was spent quietly with my honey. We watched The Da Vinci Code and then just sat in the silence until the clock struck midnight. Today, I met 3 friends from the OH Tennessee forum for lunch and yakking. Dinner was blackeyed peas, hog jowl, turnip greens and corn cakes. I am one satisfied puppy right now. Tomorrow, it's back to work for me. I've been off since the 22nd so tomorrow is going to be a long day. Susan

Susan~ That sounds like a good ol' Southern meal that my Grandma would make for Sunday dinner. I made hoppin' Johns but I'm not a big fan of blackeyed peas so I skipped that part. Kay

Hi Kay, Happy New year... I spent New years eve at home for the first time ever I think. We my husband and son and I stayed in and the girls went to my sister in laws for a party. We didn't feel like going so we stayed home and veged out. I soaked in the tub and read a magazine with some of my bath stuff I got for Christmas. I also watched football as I won the football pool of over $400. We had to guess which teams would win for all the regular season and the person with the most wins won 1/2 the pot and the rest gets shared between 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. I was in tied with first place until Green Bay won. Yesterday I spent another lazy day doing nothing and then I went shopping in the evening a got some good deals. We do not do a special meal for this holiday. ~~hugs and well wishes~~ Chris

Happy New Year Kay, We just stayed home with most of the "kids". My daughter, her husband and 2 little ones and my son and his new girlfriend. We had all kinds of snack foods, shrimp, crab, cheese dips/crackers, hot cheese dip/chips, smokies/bbq sauce... This is a repeat of what we do every year. We stay home with family, watch football, play games and watch the ball drop! Leeanne

New Year's Eve I had to work at the psych facility for a partial day, which was fine by me cause they were beginning to drive me nuts!!!! I left with great speed out of there, wishing my colleagues a Happy New Year and sped out of there...lol. I went straight to the gym to work out for 2hrs, I guess to start the New Year right. It was nice to see all the hot looking guys there, get some eye candy in for the day...ha ha. Later on, I went out for a late lunch with my friend and I had Atlantic Cod and some steamed veggies which I gladly took home. For the evening, I went over to a friend's house that had her sons over and we spent a couple of hours just remembering the good times of the past and hoping for the same good times in the future. Then it was off to my dad's to celebrate the New Year. I didn't have any sweets, but ate a half of tamale and some veggies. I had a great time with family and have enjoyed this year and I look forward to the new year. Kelli

Hi Kay, you look so wonderful, what changes in a year. New years eve we went to my daughter and her boyffriends place, our family and his was there, had a really good time. We were home by the time the ball dropped, our digs loved that. New years day I cooked, pork roast, kulbassi, saurkraut, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, geeen beans, every one enjoyed! I cook the same meal my father always did. My children come with the grandcholdren, my brother and his wife, my cousin and his family, Heather's friend and her choldren and anyone else that shows up. I always make it a open invitation. Best wishes for a wonderful new year, Rosemary
