Topic: Hi, Just b rowsing through
Hi everyone, My name is Shirley, I just found this site a few weeks ago, then went on vacation. I love reading allthe posts, and the replys. I had my surgery on 1/30/04. AS of today I have lost 95 lbs. I am 5'10. I started at 320. Is there anyone else around my height and started around my weight that can tell me where they are? According to all the posts I have read, everyone is doing great. I think we should all be encouraged, and just hang in there. Anyway, like I said I feel like I "know" some of you guys already, and hope to be accepted into the group. you guys are amazing for each other and deserve to be commended

I think you gave her the best advise possible by telling her to give it time. Some people just aren't going to be happy with anything. It's not surprising she isn't happy because she wasn't prepared for the recovery process. I don't personally know of anybody who is sorry they had the surgery. I read about new post-ops on the board sometimes but they settle down once their recovery progresses. Most of them appear not to have been prepared for the recovery process either.

Topic: RE: Head hunger
I found the head hunger creeping up on me and my carbs climbing above 30 grams a day. I made the decision if I wanted to eat other than meal times I'd allow myself to eat protein, but no carbs. Guess what, when given the choice of protein only I'm not that hungry. I get enough protein at meal times. That's my way of finding out if I'm really hungry. Water loading is good too. When you think you are hungry fill your pouch with water. Best of luck for your continued success.

Char, Are there any support groups in your area? Maybe you can steer her toward one... seeing other individuals face to face might help. V.
