There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying the attention you are now getting from men. And it is true that you are still the same person you were before the weightloss when maybe they wouldn't have talked to you, but it is still fine to feel good about it. I have men I have been friends with for years tell me that yes I was nice looking before, but now I am sexy. I LOVE THAT. I love the fact that people think I am sexy now. It's just an awesome feeling.

Topic: RE: Maintenance meds affecting you differently?
Barbie,
My Mom is bipolar and I have a friend who is as well, it seems like anything can change the med doseage, especially when there are changes from the norm for them. What changes more things than wls?
While I can't speak to the affect of wls on bipolar symptoms, I know that wls affects other maintenance drugs, such as blood pressure, diabetes, pulmonary, etc. It only makes sense to me that it would also change doseages for bipolar as well. It would be an interesting topic for research, though, wouldn't it?
Good luck and hope you get over this bump in the road soon!
Let us know how you are doing!

Judith.. sometimes it is the way of things to want those things we can not have. I like the suggestion of eating only protein between meals.. but sometimes that just won't do will i****er filling is also good.. if those don't work.. then find something you really really want .. determine what is a good portion.. then cut it in half.. and have it. Sometimes it just takes a taste to make the cravings go away. I keep a bag of Hershey dark chocolate kisses.. and when I have a craving .. I eat ONE.. that is all I need.. just ONE.. and I feel like I've had something I really wanted. Try one or two spoonfuls of whatever it is that you just can't live without. It works for me. If you find you can't stop at that.. then you need to go back to protein and water.. and then try a spoonful.. It is amazing how good you will feel about yourself. Just keep experimenting with things till you find what is right for you. It'll all work out if you keep trying. Jan 287/185/150

Topic: Maintenance meds affecting you differently?
Hi all,
I have bipolar disorder and take daily medication to control the mood swings. Last fall the Doc & I found a great dose of meds that worked well until 2 weeks ago.
I began to cycle again 2 weeks ago, and crashed a couple of days - at work. It got ugly for sure. I was devastated! I thought I had this licked! It brought home that I can't cure this disease, that it can only be managed.
But what I want to know is - have any of you had to have your maintenance drugs adjusted? There isn't really any research on bipolar individuals who have had weight loss surgery. I appreciate your insight.
Thanks and great job to all of you!

Rachel,
I actually get mad about that. I have lost 75 or so lbs, and now some guys that i've known for awhile are trying to get nicey nicey with me. NO WAY! There is very little difference with me - except my body! That just make me sooooooo angry!
Watch out for them!
