Surgeon Testimonial

James Koren
There are'nt enough words to describe the care that Dr Koren provides to his patients. We see it every time we go to Support Group Meetings,He has always been in attendance. If that is'nt dedication, I don't know what is......This also applies to the Bariatric Coordinator, Mandy who has always been there for me,to answer any questions I may have had regarding any issues with my surgery.

Dr Koren's personality & mannerism speaks for itself, his bedside & office manner has always been professional, caring & always competent.
Dr Koren's office staff are always polite, friendly & caring.
I will always be grateful to all who helped me with my personal battle to achieve a healthy lifestyle,it is truly a life change for the better.
Dr Koren is truly the "People's Doctor",He has changed so many lives................
For this I will always be grateful...............
Thank You Always!!!!

July 31 2008- 3 months since surgery!!!
on July 31, 2008 5:09 am
Well,  it's hard to believe that it has been 3 months since my surgery, I am feeling much better, I am working out, getting all my walking in.  Abiding the rules of my diet, not to say that it has all been easy, because it is'nt.  There are times I would love to have what others have on their plates, but that is the committment I have made to this lifestyle. I said I was ready for all the changes that would take place in my life, before, during & after surgery.  There have been some rough patches in this journey, but with the helpful advice & support of my Dr. and the great support system behind me I will pull through all the obstacles that I have faced & those that lie ahead of me.  As of today I am 3 lbs short of my first goal that I have set,  I have lost 47 lbs --- my goal was 50lbs by 3 months -- I know in a matter of time this will come to be!!!!This to me is truly a blessing.  Keeping the faith!!!!!!

No matter who they are,we think they're special!!!!
on July 24, 2008 4:43 am
If there is one thing I have learned from this experience,it is that we all think our Surgeons are very special people, which they are.  They take the time to treat every patient as individual as we are.  Everyone is different & have different needs, personalities,& some need more support than others,to get through a surgery like this.  I have taken the time to read what others have written about their Surgeons, even though they have the same qualities, they are different individuals, making a world of difference to people who are hoping to change their life for the better, without these special individuals, where would we be right now !!  All I know is my life changed 3 months ago, it has been an upwards battle only part of the way, but, my Surgeon has been there every step of the way,by my side. This to me,means everything to the success of my journey.  When the Dr. takes the time to be there for you & reassure you that everything will work itself out in time, you know that you have the right person on your side.Take care!!!!!!

July 23rd, 11 weeks post-op
on July 23, 2008 4:11 am
Well, I am at  11 weeks post-op,  & things are going well, again.  My weight loss is a little slow, due to the fact that I had some setbacks with the stricture, that made me go back to the Liquid phase of the diet.  I had another Endoscope & was given the "all clear" on the stricture.  So I am able to go back to the Solid foods with much caution on what I eat. So far, So good !!!

Well, I have'nt posted in some time, I am now 9 weeks post-op,things are going well for the most part.  I am very pleased with the weight loss,so far.I am currently down 43 lbs.Between that & the weight I lost before the surgery I am down 60 lbs.  I am sleeping better, feeling better, but I could have more energy.  It will get here soon enough.  All in all I am satisfied with this journey,it teaches me new things everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!
