My first impression was in October, to be honest i was not inpressed at all, so i went to other seminars. Today 1-23-07 i went back for a second try with Dr.Shina, today my opinion changed, he was funny and spent lots of time with us today.
His staff is wonderful, Jamie (a friend of mine) and Holly go beyond nice.

    Hi all. As I had posted on the Main Board and Kentucky Board a couple days ago. Missy came through surgery fine. I talked to her hubby again today and he said she did get to come home today. GO MISSY! You will be just fine. I am still praying for you!

    Welcome to the losing side! I was so glad to read that u were doing well! Take care of yourself and allow yourself time to heal. The first 4 weeks were the toughest for me. Give yourtself time to adjust to your new pouch. Getting all the liquids in at first and protein will seem hard but it gets better. U just concentrate on healing!

10 mnths out

Hello everyone,

 I am 10 mnths out, and am down 143 lbs and feeling great! I am doing very well. I had another EGD done on Saturday and everything came back normal....me normal?? LOL
   I hope to add some new pictures soon, I cant tell much change from my last pictures,but I will see what you all think.

7 mnth progress

Well its a little past 7 mnths, As of today I have lost 124, and feeling great. I am so thankful to all of my friends and support on here.

6 mnth check up today

Well today was my 6mnth check up with DrShina, down 111 lbs, he said I am doing wonderful, said I am "textbook". My blood levels were so good that I wont have to take vitamin shots now...yipee. So back to see him in 3 mnths. Thanks for all of your alls support the past 6 mnths.

5 mnths out...

Today is my 5 mnth anniversary from my surgery...can you believe that? I never would have thought that a surgery could do this to someones life. I feel amazing...my energy level is out of this world. I am down 103 lbs....oh you didnt hear that? Ok I said I AM DOWN 103 lbs...yey me. 
 We went to Gatlinburg for Christmas break, and I walked and shopped and walked and shopped....and it felt amazing. 
  I bought some new uniforms that were long overdue...and I bought X-LARGE......yes!! It was as good as buying a szie 4 in my eyes. I am loving life and looking forward to the future...and Florida in April.

I have lost a 2 mnth old horse

Well as of yesterday at 1:36 pm...I have lost 100 lbs, I was so excited I about Died. I am so happy and feel great.

My Story

Hello I am a 38 year old wanting to have surgery done in the near future, I am leaning towards the lap band surgery.But have decided GBS would work much better for me.I have been overweight most of my life and I am ready for a healthy change.I have met so many wonderful people on the website and actually have made life long friends with a few.I have wonderful husband and family that supports me in whatever my decision is. This is a wonderful website, lots of information and help with questions.Email me if you have any questions or comments.
