I have to go back next week for further scans of my right breast.

I let the technician know that I had lost about 165 pounds.

I also have skin tags and rough skin that is in our family.

So, I am just posting to inquire.

No use getting all worried and panic.

Just had to call my mom to tell her. She is nearly an 11 year survivor of breast cancer. Her sister is a three year survivor. So, looking to family history and wondering...

I don't have any suggestions, advice, nor have I experienced what you're experiencing, however; I wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers!  Good luck to you!!

i've heard of it yes, because it doesn't look anything like it did before for them to compare it to.

wish they could get you in sooner, glad you are not panicking (sp)

keep us posted.

you reminded me to call and schedule mine. I hate mammograms, and I really hat the things they make you tape over your nipples!

Oh yes I have gone down that road- not once but TWICE! The last time they scared the heck outta me- sent me for MRIs and Ultrsounds (then after a negative reading the HUFFY tech came in, felt to lump and said "this is just fatty breast tissue from your weight loss!")

My prayers are with you.

I did have to have a second reading done this time around, but it was also the third time I've had this happen (twice before WLS).  They also got the new digital mammography machine this year and it caused more second readings.

Thanks for your prayers and support. I talked with some people. This is how I react to things. I pray and I talk.

Just as I arrived home from work, my sister returned my phone call. My sister  had her RNY surgery almost 5 years ago. She has not had to get a second read. Yet her doctor still has the machine that makes you feel like you are flattened to a thin crust ****a. Oh, a food reference, pardon me.

The machine may have been a digital one because I was so glad the pressure was a lot less. I have a problem with my neck and usually feel so sore from the mammograms.

It seemed like so much less pressure. It is something we have to do as women to keep ourselves healthy.

My sister will see me for the first time since my surgery when we meet up in Washington DC for a day near the end of my vacation. (I leave in 8 days for vacation!)

She was packing to leave tomorrow for Canada. I had a lovely conversation with her. My sister does not write much; even on the Internet. It is great that she was able to call back.

Strange you should bring this up.  I just got the call and they want me come back in on Monday for 2nd set of pics and ultrasound.  I have them yearly (fam history) and this is the first call back for me.   I did alert them that I had lost over 100lbs before they took the first set of pics this year.

My mom has a call back about every other mammogram and has yet to have anything malignent.   I have decided not to worry until after the Monday's appt.  :)

Hoping and praying the best for you!!

Take care.

Thank you. I will wait and pray. It is my nature.

I had the doctor post the significant weight loss and told the technician. We had a pleasant conversation as her sister had the operation last October throughTufts. Her sister lost 95 pounds.
